Okay here is an interesting study on casual games and their market. It seems girls will pay for it and even admit to playing it. Boys? Well we lie, cheat, and steal when it comes to casual games.

"Everyone always thought that casual games were something that only appeal to women"
Err... I did? Shit, apparently women are psychics now. Get this woman a goddamn medal.
Anyway, this is a typical fluff piece that nobody should pay attention to.

Men are just as likely as women to play casual video games, but are less likely to admit it, according to an industry report that shatters a widely held industry belief that such games appeal mainly to women.
Uh... why wouldn't they admit it? Unless it's talking about games like this (http://www.amazon.com/Activision-Barbie-12-Dancing-Princesses/dp/B000HZFCZG/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/002-0422298-6540808?ie=UTF8&s=videogames&qid=1193794840&sr=8-1) which no one in their right mind, other than little girls, would admit to playing even if they did. But that's not even a game I'd call a casual game.
Wii Sports, for instance, is a casual game. A ton of guys enjoy playing that game. People could argue that's because it has "sports" in the title and stereotypically guys enjoy sports, but that's not even a good arguement. I'm sure just as many guys, if not more than women (because there's STILL more male gamers than female even with the casual gamers), play games like Brain Age.

If we are talking percentages though, I would guess that virtually no women who play games wouldn't 'admit' to playing casual games, but there would be quite a number of 'hardcore' male gamers who would like to keep up an air of not playing these games, even if they do.

my usual male instinct to steer clear of brightly colored cartoony graphics for fear of catching the GAY!
