Alright so I haven't used my Wii pretty much since launch, and now, every time I turn it off, the blue light around the disc slot stays on, is that supposed to happen? Also, the power light turns orange not red, is that supposed to happen too?

It means you have a message.

As above, you got mail. Also, the orange light means your Wii is in standby mode and not powered off.

That's the one you get everyday that keeps track of what you've been doing on your Wii that particular day. For example, it will say what game or channel you've been playing and the amount of time you played for.

Yeah, the number pretty much represents how many messages you have on the Wii message board for that day. It never goes away unless you delete all of the messages. The one that tracks the time you've played games or spent on channels is not worth deleting because next time you play a game or access a channel a new message will be made to track the time. Better just to let the console make the one message per day that you play it and let it track everything than constantly deleting things.
