As noted on /.:
"Harold Ramis, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd are getting back together and revisiting their roles to make a sequel to Ghostbusters 1 and 2 - in video-game form, and we've got the first details. Both Aykroyd and Ramis are teaming up for scriptwriting duties and are going far beyond just the typical licensed add-your-voice-to-the-game-you-had-nothing-to-do-with formula"
I, for one, am amused. Is this necessary? Not by any means, but definitely still amused.

Aint It Cool news has an updated version of this story plus a link to a picture. Ernie Hudson (Winston Zeddemore) and Annie Potts (Jeannine Melnitz) will also be reprising their roles. You can read about it and check the link to the pic here (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/34793) .

No Rick Moranis? I was a bit upset when I saw no Ernie Hudson. They screwed the guy out of like all the early video games (Angry Nintendo nerd addresses this).. But I'm glad he's in.

Gametrailers has a new teaser trailer up for the game. I can't wait to see how this one turns out.

Better yet, G4TV has exclusive (http://www.g4tv.com/pile_player.aspx?video_key=19059) gameplay clips. As soon as I saw the cake explode and Slimer through food, I was sold. My pre-order cash is ready.

The gameplay footage looks awesome. I'm really curious as to how the story is going to go, though. The article says that it's a new story taking place after Ghostbusters II, but the screenshots and gameplay are clearly scenes from the first two movies. Maybe flashbacks/bonus levels of some sort? It would be great to have a brand new story, but also getting to re-live some 'classic' cases as well.

I would bet we'll be getting all 3!! I don't think it would be a smart decision to jump in at #3, when it's possible some people playing the game haven't seen #1 or #2 (I know, I know, who hasn't seen Ghostbusters, right?!?!). Gives the whole package some continuity.

Seriously who here didn't get giddy like a little school girl when you saw the pics and video? I know I sure as heck did.
