The Wii Zapper comes out tomorrow. Well actually Link's Crossbow Training comes out tomorrow, and you get the Zapper with it for free, as some people might say...

Anyway, some reviews have come in for the Zapper, and common complaints are in the springless trigger for the B-trigger, inaccessiblity/hard to access Wiimote buttons and D-Pad, and the overall tommy gun style of the Zapper. Games released early on in the Wii's life, like Call of Duty 3 and Red Steel, are apparently much harder to play with the Zapper.

On the other hand, Core Gamer has already released the Wii Blaster, a shotgun/rifle-esque accessory. From what I've read of that, it's a good shell that makes playing pre-Zapper FPSs somewhat easier to play, though the B-Trigger makes firing a little odd, and the plastic around the Nunchuck is hard and sharp, and could use a little sanding or softening of some sort. Also, the plastic is not as hard as the Zapper's, so it might be a little more fragile.

Anyway, who will be buying what? I wouldn't mind having an accessory like the Zapper or the Blaster for the fun of it, but I actually can't see which would be better.

I'm voting for hidden option #3, none of the above. I haven't had so little interest in Nintendo hardware since the N64 itself.

I've had the Wii Zapper for a couple of weeks as I got it with the Japanese Ghost Squad.

First impressions were good as the way it incorporates both the remote and nunchuk into its design means there's no hanging wire or anything.

Build quality is decent, although it feels weird for a while if you're used to light guns like the GunCon which are designed for one handed use.
It looks alright, but a bit on the tacky side.

My main complaint is that the first batch of them released in Japan contained loads with a faulty trigger and unfortunately I ended up with one. Apparently loosining the screws or using lubricant sorts the problem out but I haven't bothered yet as you can just use the remote for Ghost Squad without the nunchuck and it works perfectly.
I'll probably buy that Zelda game and end up with another one and I'm pretty sure I'll be ordering Biohazard UC in the next week or so and will likely get the Wii Zapper bundle so I'm sure one of those will work properly.

Just wait until the 1st of December. I know you'll be joining me in buying WiiFit! :D

That, at least, interests me more than the Wii Zapper (or Cha's Fucking Floor). :P

Agreed. I don't care for the design of the Wii Zapper myself. Not sure Link's Crossbow Training is worth the cost of one either.
