Hello. I'm not sure if I'm at the right place but I just got to ask this--
I watched an anime movie when I was younger and I couldn't remember the title of it. I watched it in the late 80s or early 90s. I couldn't remember the whole plot but it's about a ninja/samurai boy searching for the bad guy named draco or drago (or some other name I have always related to dragons). Along the way he fought with many other bad guys, one is called "Magic Lantern" who had the ability to mimic the ninja boy's abilities, so it was like he was fighting with himself. There's also a girl named named Blossom(?) whom the ninja boy liked.
If this sounds familiar to anybody, any help would be very much appreciated! I have been wondering about this for years!

Hmmm...
I'm not too familiar with the whole ninja genre of anime, but could you possibly be thinking of Bastard?
Here's (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0103775/plotsummary) a link to the IMDB synopsis of it by its Japanese title, Basutâdo! Ankoku no hakaijin.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but someone who's more informed than I should be along to either confirm my suggestion or actually have the right anime title you're trying to find.
By the way,... welcome to the AoD forums :)

Interesting guess, but it doesn't sound much like Bastard. Probably some OVA, of which there were quite a few with that sort of story.
Question: did you watch the show on TV? On Japanese store-bought video? Or on fan traded video?

We rented it from a regular video rental place. It was dubbed in English, not subbed, so it must have been released in the United States (or some other English-speaking country).
I have always assumed that it's a movie, but then if it's just a 4-6 episode OVA(which runs around 2 to 3 hours (?), then it could have been one.
I read the synopsis of Bastard. The plot and characters doesn't seem familiar to me but right now I'm open to all ideas since my memory is hazy. The timeframe and the setting seems just about right though. I'll look for a video of it just to check.
I know I don't have much info. The only thing I'm fairly certain right now is the Magic Lantern character so I really appreciate your help.
Thanks.

I found two matches, that fit the bill. The problem is that the dub you seen probably had name changes, so it was very hard to trace.
Manga Sarutobi Sasuke (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=2308) (Ninja, The Wonder Boy) - A 24 episode TV series (US version was converted into a couple movies) and was released in the US by Paramount. There's a character named "Red Lantern" in it.
Shonen Sarutobi Sasuke (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1501) (Magic Boy (http://www.btinternet.com/~shawweb/stephen/magboy.htm)) - An anime movie that was released out by Warner Bros.

You know what, I think it's the movie version of Manga Sarutobi Sasuke! I had doubts at first seeing how the series is so old but the movie versions were released 1985 and 1991 so yeah, I probably watched either one of those.
And aside from the Red Lantern character, a character is named Sakura which, if I'm not mistaken, translates to "Cherry Blossom" in English. So maybe my memory serves me right and one character was named Blossom!
Arigato Gozaimasu!! Now I'll be able to sleep peacefully.

That's my best bet. The US version is titled "Ninja, The Wonder Boy" and after doing a quick ebay search. I see a lot of used VHS tapes for sale there. One of them has a Hollywood Video sticker on it, which indicates it was a rental copy.
