After recently watching Noir I'm still not exactly sure what Les Soldats is? Could someone clarify this for me. Also, what is their relation to the Cosa Nostra if any? Is Les Soldats based off any historical syndicate?

The Soldats are a cross between a religious movement and a criminal syndicate. They are factional, so some parts of it lean more religious (like Altena's forces) while others are more secular and regular criminals (the Soldat's male council.) The founders were, if I'm remembering correctly, a small group of survivors of a war long ago who swore to take revenge upon the world. They pre-date the Cosa Nostra and played a role in it's formation. (The document Mireille and Kirika aquired from Silvana proved this.)
I don't know if they are based on any real-life organizations. Anyway, hope that helped!

But remember kids, their main skills are producing hordes of Faceless Minions for Kirika and Mirielle to kill.
