Early on, this seemed questionable, but with that writing staff, the animation studios on hand and Bruce Timm at the helm, there's no way this will be anything less than stellar.

This will be absolutely sick.

I am really looking forward to this after reading that.
Bruce Timm can do no wrong.

Looks like Warner Brothers is putting together another Animatrix-style production. I thought it worked well enough the last time around, but this seems even more promising.

So are they gonna call it the Batmanime?

My interest in this has gone way up. I wasn't thrilled when this was first announced. They made it seem like it was going be along the lines of the Teen Titans cartoon. I had no idea any Japanese animation studios were going to be involved.

So are they gonna call it the Batmanime?

Actually that's not far off from the working title, which was "Batman Anime". That title was a major contributor to my initial skepticism.

Man, my fandom is nearly about to explode! Brian Azzarello? Greg Rucka? Bruce Timm? I.G.? Madhouse? 4ºC? Absolute 'effin' WIN! :notworthy:

If Warner announces that Kevin Conroy will return to voice Batman in these series of shorts, I just dunno what I'll do. Then again, I expect they'll sign on the live-action films' actors instead.

Holy shit

I HAVE to see this as an anime fan and a Batman fan

I just had a epileptic attack on my seat. The part about the exploration of "different facets of Batman" is especially awesome-sounding.

Sounds like an animated version of the Batman: Black & White anthology series. I'd definitely be willing to check this out.

Still a little down after Superman / Doomsday sucked mostly. Hoping this and Justice League: New Frontier can get the DC animated films back on track.

Wow. After seeing the article, I can't wait to see this when it comes out on DVD. I also can't wait until Dark Knight come to theaters. :susel:

I've been on quite a Timmverse kick the past couple months, so I'm definitely very excited about this. Having Bruce Timm and 4C on the same project is an utter dream to me.

If Warner announces that Kevin Conroy will return to voice Batman in these series of shorts, I just dunno what I'll do. Then again, I expect they'll sign on the live-action films' actors instead.
I'm pretty doubtful about them bringing Conroy (as much as I'd love it too), if anything it's just as you said, it'll probably be Bale as Batman (which I've got no qualms with either).

Darkseid: Yeah, I was disappointed with Doomsday too, but The New Frontier is shaping up to look like it's going to kick all kinds of ass.

OMG ! this is excellent ! having 1 of my top anime studios making 1 of my favorite Super heroes is like a dream come true ! :notworthy:

Is it just me or the design kinda looks like Kia Asamiya's Batman manga design ? well not that i would mind that :noodle:

If I wasn't already sold (and I was), that would have totally put me over the top. Now, it's just icing on the cake. Crazy, crazy icing.

I think it would take a breakdown of the space-time continuum for this to end up sucking. Like too much win in one place causing a rip in the fabric of the universe. Or something.

A part of me wishes you had just kept this to yourself. Now I have hyped this film to unrealistic, stratospheric heights.

The only thing that can make this worse is knowing who's scoring the music.

Well, if Hirasawa teams up with Kon again for his segment...

Jesus, I wouldn't know what to think then.

I found this news clipping on the web:

I guess this is somewhat going to be like the Animatrix with Batman.

Bruce Timm + Batman + Anime (Production I.G., Madhouse & Studio 4) is going to be an amazing combination.

:noodle: Thirded! I miss him as Batman. Bale is okay , but THE voice of batman to me will always be Kevin Conroy.
