Where are you at in the series? Also, you are lucky not to contend with the single release schedule that some of us dealt with a couple years back. It made some of the cliffhangers that much more unbearable...

Or watched an episode a week, it's almost as bad, I think. Blue Gender is definitely a series that should be marathoned.
I love Blue Gender as well.

If only the show didn't go to hell in the second half...the second half was so bad for me that despite a well-done first half, I just had to sell the rest of the show off.

I liked it, this series featues the joint talents of Ryosuke Takahashi (Dougram, VOTOMS, Gararaki, Flag) and Koichi Ohata (MD Geist, Cybernetic Guardian, GenoCyber, Sadamitsu: the Destroyer) an enviromental cautionary tale enveloped in all out carnage and Mecha Mayhem.

What's wrong with the second half?

The first half of the series had this wonderful grim and desperate feel to it that emphasized how hard and fragile human life could be. The second half took this weird sci-fi root...

Except Blue Gender is sci-fi all the way through.
One of my gripes with the second half (aside from a really half-assed and rushed finale) is that the production values seemed to sink even lower than they had been in the first. I know that AiC didn't have that great of a budget then, but some of those scenes were crap.

I just thought it was great all the guns looked like the ones from James Cameron's Aliens and there was so much screaming~drama and carnage. I could not imagine having to wait a week after those endings .. that must have sucked .. I got all 8 DVD's and I have watched them all the way though like 4 times I think. Truth of the matter is I use to watch that while I was copy-pasting text to producers in myspace .. that series kept me company while I was doing that repeative work
