Voting Big Board (http://www.fudce.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/draft06/voteboard.htm)
We started with twenty participants.
Two Hundred and Fourty actors were drafted, and spread amongst twenty cast lists.
First, ten were eliminated. Two took more persuading in the form of a tiebreaker, but eventually they fell too.
Then, in another week of voting, three of the remaining eight were disposed of, followed a day later by another tiebreak victim.
And here we stand, fifty-seven days after the first pick was made. Only four remain, and of those four, only two have a chance to be crowned champion.
We have the two third place finalists, runners up in their semifinals:
From Poetry Pavilion, The Historian of Something,
The Great Bear (http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showpost.php?post/579826/)!
From the West Midlands, our outgoing champion,
Spirit of the Stage (http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showpost.php?post/579818/)!
And now our finalists.
She easily won her first round grouping, and had a clear margin in the semifinals. Will she be our first female champion? From Maryland:
ancar (http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showpost.php?post/580098/)!
He narrowly avoided a four way tie in round one, but shone the brightest of all in the semifinals. He was the champion of the first draft, and the organiser of several others. From Olympia:
Geoduck (http://www.animeondvd.com/forum/showpost.php?post/582555/)!
The third place decider will be announced at 6.30pm/9.30pm/2.30am PST/EST/GMT on Sunday 23rd December.
The final will end, and the winner will be announced at 7.00pm/10.00pm/3.00am PST/EST/GMT on Sunday 23rd December.
LET THE VOTING COMMENCE!

With SOTS winning the tiebreaker for the right to play in the bronze medal match, all 4 groups are represented in the Final Four. We have SOTS from Group A vs. TGB from Group B duking it out for the bronze while ancar from Group C goes head to head with Geoduck from Group D for the gold. I wonder if this is a first in draft history. Then again, since this is the first draft I participated and followed, the bracket might be different.

Today is the last day of the Fall 2007 VA Draft and it concludes with the awarding of the medals. Once again, get your votes in if you have not done so as tonight is it. All I can say is that everybody put an awesome cast list that the process of selecting the winners was extremely hard.

1. It's the Autumn draft. Since I'm organising it, and am english, we are using the english term for the season.
2. No medals will be awarded, unless Bermanism wishes to award them personally.
3. It might not end tonight.
Other than that, I agree with Bermanism that the cast lists this time have been fun to look at, and it's been a good draft.

The medals were just an analogy with the way the voting is set and all like it is in Olympic basketball. Anyway, I hope everybody had fun with this game.

Autumn!? If I'd known that I never would have participated. You think I'm Canadian and can take to this foppish floral Queen's English so easily? :P (Especially when it misspells "organizing" and leaves the first letters of its proper nouns in lower case. ;) )
Hmm, well, I got farther than I have before, I suppose. And though I'm not in the final I at least had a relatively easy time of voting, I think. With at least one of my all-around favorites in. Good work and good luck to everyone involved and still fighting it out.
Now we need Damaramu or Nork22 or someone to run the Spring draft so they can call it the Fall (excuse me, Autumn) draft instead. :)

And we have our winner. In third place, the bronze goes to The Great Bear. In second place, the silver goes to Geoduck. And the winner of the Fall (Autumn according to Fudce and SOTS) 2007 VA Draft is ancar, the mistress from Maryland. Ancar, you have won the gold. Congratulations, ancar. And with that, we have come to the conclusion to the draft.

There is still the matter of the character voting and scoring :)
Congratulations ancar, Geoduck and The Great Bear!

From barely registering in time for a previous draft, to champion of this one. You've come a long way, baby!
Congrats, ancar!

Merry Christmas, everyone!

With the character polls all done and scores tabulated, here are the totals by group:
Group A Total: 584
Group B Total: 655
Group C Total: 633
Group D Total: 648
This means that Group B is the strongest division in this draft, the SEC of Negima cast lists, and I thought so too since Arcturus and The Great Bear both had excellent cast lists (Arcturus is #1 in the BCS Rankings for characters and TGB won the bronze) that I thought could... go... all... the... way!

Right on, ancar! You were the "one of my all-around favorites", and while it worried me (rightly so) going against you in the second round, I was able to vote for an early favorite in the finals. (Not that I didn't also like Geoduck's cast, of course.)
Yuri on Negi, with Clinkenbeard, Blaustein, Walch (best Konoka) and Clark for the main characters was my top pick for that group out of all casts. Michaels and especially Strong for the Walking Group were a great addition, and Jones and Forstadt on the Kyoto team were icing.

2. Geoduck - 145pts

O.K Nii-kun.
And whilst I got to the play-offs by one vote, I lost by one for 3rd place - no matter, because TBH the three teams ahead were the best teams I felt in the draft anyway (I voted for Geoducks throughout the draft but ancar's team definitely deserved victory as well) - so well done all and hopefully see you next time for the spring draft and for the aut...er...fall...er...whatever draft it will be late next year... :noodle:
And of course, thanks to Fudce for holding the fort superbly - now curse all polls forever more so you never do another one...
