I'm not expecting much, and I've read mixed opinions on these games, so I'm wondering if anyone here has actually played either History Channel Civil War (preferably for PS2) or History Channel Battle for the Pacific (preferably for Wii). I can bet the Xbox 360 versions for each would probably be the best, but I don't have a 360, so that version for both games is out. But if you played the 360 versions, then describing the games off of that system is fine.

With a Civil War game made, hopefully a game will come out that uses the time period I want in a FPS the most: World War I.

As for Battle for the Pacific, I know that Call of Duty 3 has been out for more than a year and Medal of Honor Heroes 2 is out, but right now I want to try something that isn't CoD nor MoH. And I heard that the Wii version is a bit of a different game than the 360 version due to different development teams making them.

So, in the end, how are these two History Channel games?

I've only played the Civil War game at a demo kiosk in Hastings (a video store near where I live). Unless it's at clearance price, I wouldn't go past renting it. It's playable, but something just doesn't feel right about it, and I can't quite type what I'm trying to get at... :tired: I guess I'm spoiled on the bigger franchises. :sd:

This topic reminds me of the PTO game series from Koei. I wish they'd make another one.

I actually bought Battle for the Pacific for the Wii, and it actually wasn't that bad.

I played through the first stage, and will probably play it more when I get the Wii Perfect Shot accessory I ordered from Amazon, and while it's not exactly the next Call of Duty or Medal of Honor, it's a lot better than what I thought it would be like.

Granted, the fact that the Wii version was developed by a different studio than the PS2 and Xbox 360 versions might be part of the reason.

As for Civil War, yeah I heard of its problems, and I'll probably only think about getting it if it was at a cheap price.

That would be great if they did.

As for the Civil War game, I remember one of my friends got that the week it came out and was whining about no one playing online. He said it was average at best and he is a Civil War whore. That being said, with the Gamestop buy 2 used, get 1 free, I am still considering getting it since it is so cheap now ($17.99 used) and would make a good piece of a 3 discount deal games.

I am definitely interested in checking out Battle for the Pacific, but I don't want to pay full price.
