Criterion anime releases?

I thought Akira was Streamline VHS then Pioneer/Geneon in the US. Interesting to note the Criterion release used Streamline's dub (as does Manga UK's DVD release today).

Were there any other Criterion anime LDs at all? Was/were Akira & any others CAV or CLV?

Wow, I'm really surprised Criterion released Akira (I had no clue), but am even more surprised they released something dubbed!

I remember seeing that LD at HMV for $149 CND! I didn't buy it but from what I remember it was two discs mixed CAV/CLV being just over 2 hours and including stills of the manga and other extras. I think that was the only Anime release. There were other Sreamline titles released on LD by Image with the Japanese track (I have 8man) but no subtitles, just dubtitle CC.

I just browsed the Criterion laserdisc (http://www.criterion.com/asp/laserdisc_browse.asp) and Japan (DVD) lists (http://www.criterion.com/asp/browse_countries.asp?id=12), and only found Akira. Since the Criterion Web sites (as archived by the Wayback Machine) are too new to have the LD's page on them, this ANN thread (http://fast.animenewsnetwork.com/bbs/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=208345#208345) is the best information I have. Well, other than this Google Groups search (http://groups.google.com/groups/search?q=criterion+akira+laserdisc).
