Well, it's got maid[s?] (and a butler). Could be brilliant, could be crap. Only one way to find out!

Episode 1:
- Mmm, Shinra's boobs. So this isn't a show about lots of maids and one male "master", but rather Kuonji Shinra and her sisters (Miyu and Yume) are the mistresses of the mansion. And their butler (apprentice) is Uesugi Ren.
- Shower scene! Except Shinra's breasts and crotch emit extremely bright light and are unviewable.
- You know, I never really thought I'd be watching two "super butler" anime at the same time. I'm going to have to try not to compare this to Hayate no Gotoku.
- Also, Ren has like.... whisker-like scars or something.
- Generic OP.
- Ren ran away from home with his older sister Mihato. Big breasted meganekko Mihato.
- They arrive in the city and split up to look for jobs. Mihato has a camera in her cleavage...
- Ren has little luck until... well, uh, yeah. He finds a guy who is "interested" but for all the wrong reasons.
- Shinra is apparently a popular and successful conductor.
- Haha just as I was about to comment on the siblings' brother-complex/sister-complex, a man hits on Mihato, and she turns him down with "Sorry, I have a brother complex!"
- Hato-nee didn't have any luck either so they wind up camping out. But not before some Hato-neeservice. Also: "Uesugi Mihato has 49 secret tools hidden throughout her body!" o_O Apparently her crotch hides ramen. And along with a camera, she has lettuce in her cleavage.
- While camping out, Ren has a nightmare about one of the times his drunken father beat him, and Hato-nee intervened to try and protect him. He's determined to stay away from that man forever, and make Hato-nee happy no matter what.
- Goooootoooo Yuuuukooooo! She plays Miyu, Shinra's sister. She also has a talking floating egg following her around. She likes the fact that everyone is staring at her. She's definitely cute... and she knows it. She also has an IQ of 240 and is really bad with hot days. She almost collapses, but egg and Ren prop her back up. He picks her up and says he'll take her home, and she blushes. Also, panties.
- Mihato shows up and convinces Miyu to let them help her. I thought Miyu was going to be a really arrogant ojou-sama type, but she's actually grateful and smiles pretty easily around them. Interesting.
- They get her home and Mihato sees the servants, and also sees their chance... Miyu serves them a meal and they meet Penisu. Or that's what Ren hears. :sd: Benisu corrects him, complete with utterly random pedobear ascii.
- In no time he gets in in argument with her. Whatshisname steps in and takes Ren out with an energy beam and shot into the fountain outside. There he sees Shinra, and gets beat up by the butler some more, but not before impressing him and Shinra with his tenacity.
- Mihato gets her chance to relate their sob story. A chance she's not passing up (devious Mihato is love). But the time he regains consciousness, she's gotten them both a live-in job.
- Shinra tells them that her name embodies the essence of all that exists in the universe, and thus they must call her Shinra-sama. She says her hobby is admiring cute things (she says this while petting Benisu). She also insists on calling her sister a "loli" :sd: She likes Miyu's cute angry face. ...Shinra has an imouto fetish.
- The more "normal" Yume is the third sister. She likes amateur radio and collecting seashells, but she mourns being the sister nobody remembers.
- Then Benisu reintroduces herself. She's the head maid. Natose is in charge of security and gardening. Chiharu is in charge of cleaning... and is a trap. And the Colonel, the head butler, is the legal guardian of the three sisters.
- ED is sort of OK until it gets silly at the end.
Next episode has Shinra licking Miyu, so I'll watch. Also, preview references Hayate no Gotoku.
This episode threw lots of characters at us but we have the setup and it was good enough to check out a few more episodes. I love the sisters already.

*Reads* Okay it sounds like this will have some level of fanservice. However the whole thing about running away and the abusive father gives the impression there could be a decent story hidden under enough. I'm undecided if I'll randomly watch the first episode or instead read up to see if there is pay-off near the end or if everything falls apart.

As always, thanks for your detailed opinion, something. I saw you posted about this, and went looking for the episode. And then my first thought was "What the heck did I just watch?" :sd: Looks like this'll be a fun guilty pleasure this season.
I think I'm going to like Mihato. And wow, lettuce in the cleavage? This woman's fascinating! And poor Yume....already forgotten.
I like this angle on a maid-esque sort of show. Could've done without the trap though.

That's how I'm approaching it. If it wants to surprise me and be good beyond that, that's fine, but as long as I get Shinra petting cute girls, I'm pretty much good to go.

The cute girls that jiggle, or all of them? This show somehow managed to have both less and more fanservice than I expected.

Scratch that, I decided to just watch it. It's not anything amazing, but it's a decent start all things considered. Granted it still feels like it's in the set up stage. So I may give it another episode or two to see how things go. Perhaps more if things go well.
One thing that will help this series stand out is the fact he's not alone. Rather than end up living there by himself, his sister comes along for the ride. It may be a small touch, but it has potential to effect things differently. Plus Hato-nee is awesome.
In terms of the sisters. All I will say right now is I feel sorry for poor Yume. She needs a chance to shine, but her sisters overshadow her. Seems like a lot of characters do.

Damn that trap!!
Anyway, it was a fun little episode. Shinra is one hot master. Pity this ain't a hentai (seeing as it was originally an Eroge) then they won't be too shy on the bright lights/mist/conveniently place objects.

Only seen the first 5 mins and just want to say 4 things, Shinra is hot, we will be seeing her big tits in the dvd version, nice op song and Tomokazu Seki ftw.

Mihato and Shinra are awesome. Those two alone are reason enough to keep watching. But Miyu is also great (and voiced by Yuko Goto). Yume is okay and the rest I'm more or less indifferent to.
Hato-nee can hide things all over her body and despite her apparent innocence, she knows how to take advantage of situations. And she has a brother complex and actually says as much to turn someone down.
Shinra is well aware of her status and acts like without flaunting it (much...) like the Ojou-sama type. And she loves cute things. Like little sisters. And she's fucking hot.
Miyu... when she first appeared, I thought she was going to be a character I didn't like. But they surprised me and she ended up being quite likable. She could potentially pull an upset and end up becoming my favorite, she just hasn't had a chance to shine as much as Mihato and Shinra at this point. Well, aside from being damn smart and even building her own nifty little robot. On another note, she kind of reminds me of a certain Negima character, minus the web idol/copslay stuff... though they can feel free to toss that in there later and I won't complain.
Yume has potential and she's slowly endearing herself to me but she's a very one note character in the little screentime she's had. I hope to see more of her though.
The maids didn't really stand out to me. They are there and they don't annoy me and are occasionally humorous but that's about it. And I was terribly disappointed about the trap. sHe was cute and was the one servant I thought I might care about. And I still like him, just, uh, not as much.
I don't really care for Ren and his character design bugs me. It's the eyes and the whiskers (I didn't like them on Naruto and I don't like them here, nor anywhere else). His personality is not particularly appealing either.
On a more general note, the silhouette thing really bugs me too.
However, they did handle the panty shots well. They where there, but they were few and unobtrusive. They didn't feel forced and weren't being shoved in our faces.
- I thought Miyu was going to be a really arrogant ojou-sama type, but she's actually grateful and smiles pretty easily around them. Interesting.
I was pleased with this development. I'm generally not a fan of ojou-samas and it would have been a shame for such a cute and smart girl like her to be character I couldn't like.
That was certainly a nice development. is why I love Shinra. And, uh, the fact that she's the hottest girl in the show certainly doesn't hurt.

Seems pretty fun, I'll probably be sticking with it.
Mihato was pretty cool.
The Colonel easily stole the episode though. That guy's made of win, it seems.

I suppose that's true. I just told myself that that was more time and money they could use on drawing the characters that actually matter. It's still kind of annoying though.

Though the first episode wasn't exactly side-splitting, the show has a massive amount of potential given the characters and their many MANY quirks.

My heart-o belongs to Mihato <3
I came, I saw, I'm indifferent. I have to say the solid color silhouettes are one of the lamest cost cutting tricks I've yet seen, though it's not really so bad or distracting. If it allows them to keep the primary character animation good then more power to them, but this strikes me as a lower budget show in general.
So, cute girls doing generally cute and wacky things. I guess I'm on board provided I find time to watch. I intended H2O to be my guilty pursuit for the season but that one looks like it actually has a good story behind it so I'll let KimiAru fill the slot. It's sort of like a less ambitious and more traditional harem-esque version of Hayate no Gotoku. I hope they keep the humor up becuase that's what'll make it watchable.

Okay watched it all now, pretty fun show I guess I'll be following it. That colonel guy is hilarious in a way and while I still like Shinra the best the other 2 sisters looks to be fun characters as does Hato-nee (Hopefully Hitomi gets an insert song). I also liked how they had Shinra mention Hayate no Gotoku and her character in that show in Hinagiku.

I went into this one somewhat warily (I don't have the greatest memories of maid shows with 'Master' in the title...), but was very pleasantly surprised. It's got so many shades of Hayate that it almost looks like it's intentionally in its shadow, but it has a lot to differentiate it as well- plus I like a whole lot of the characters.
I'd be hard-pressed to pick a favorite at this point... but given my love of meganeko, Hato-ne is pretty high up there (plus she's got a fair bit of depth by the looks of it and isn't just a pretty pair of boobs wearing glasses...). The back-story on their dad could get used for more dramatic bends later on- or completely dropped. At this point, I'm largely ambivalent though- it could work well either way.

If it makes you feel better Aruji and Goshuujin are a little bit different. Plus taking the source material into consideration, there's a good chance for the hot girl on girl action that everyone seems to love so much.

Both of those certainly don't hurt- but the first episode alone did quite well on selling me on the show. Almost all of the characters struck me as being more likable and fun than those in the earlier show, and what looks to be Kimiaru's 'mascot' (De Niro) looks to be far less abnoxious than Pochi. I'm glad I gave it a chance and watched it.
Well, other than the fact that I once again will have a stupid number of shows to follow this season between the new ones and the continuing ones... :sweatdrop:

I've never beat something to an episode before. I believe this root reply is what he recommends.
This show's on crack! Pure undiluted crack. Or I'm on crack. Either way, I want more.
So, the two siblings have to go through a one-week trial period. Surprisingly, he does better than expected. Hato-nee as well, but we saw that coming.
After mentioning how valuable the vases were around the house, there was no way he could avoid breaking one, I suppose? And then he gets angry because he's worried he'll turn out abusive like his father. I like that point, but it feels a little weird in this episode. Their hint at a plot for later, I guess.
And there are actually people in the background this time, so I guess it was a stylistic choice in ep1 (maybe?).
There's some seriously nutsy people in that house. Wow. Shinra's got a sister fetish, Benisu's got an Ojou-sama fetish(well, I suppose that was a given), and apparently Hato-nee wasn't joking about the brother fetish, as she left a hair on his bed.
I think I like Natose a lot so far. And she wanted a little brother....how convienent that Ren's room shares a balcony.
Having Ren serve as floating assistance works very well for forcing him to interact with the whole cast. Very useful.
Lots more wacky comedy, so I think I'll keep going. I have a weakness for silly maid stuff anyway.

More of Miyu, More of Shinra, More of Yume, More Hato-nee. Yeah I can totally understand and agree with that ideal

Clearly vases are meant to be broken! Or wait maybe that was rules.

It will be interesting to see what if anything this "abusive" father stuff plays in the over all story. So far it mainly gives Ren a reason for running away and something to think back to.

They may be nutsy, but they're also sexy. Well at least some if not all of the females.

Which if done right should help keep things varied in the show too. Yeah this series has definite potential to be a for the fun of it series.

And more of Natose. Can't forget her (which is weird, since usually the more "animalistic" girls aren't as high on the list for me). Hato-nee's quite a sweet, sexy girl. With quite the cushions to rest on, as we saw.

Split the difference - break both.

Considering the residents' [lack of] sanity, I suppose he needs motivation. So maybe it's more of a McGuffin than a red herring?

I'm surprised that it has potential, really. While I do love me my maids, I don't expect too much. However, this one's left me staring in [amused] shock several times already. So I'll stick with it. :)

Now that you mention, that's right; there was none of that silhouette crap in this episode. I'm glad its gone and I hope it stays that way.
I like Yume and Natose more now as they've had a chance to have a bit more of an impression on me. Shinra wasn't in this episode much (though I guess she wasn't in the first one much either) but I just love her methods of teasing her sisters. Miyu is even more awesome. But I just can't accept that Chiharu is a guy. He's incredibly girly, he just doesn't have any boobs and (supposedly) has a penis.
As for the new characters, Mistia or whatever her name was... well, I wasn't expecting that. Ms. Forehead-scar was less interesting and her servant is an uninteresting, mildly annoying, and completely unnecessary male. I guess there was another friend of Yume's, but she seems to be completely normal.
All in all, it was good trashy fun.

Episode 2:
- Ren has weird dreams. Figures Mihato shows up naked.
- So Mihato is Miyu's personal assistant? Awesome, that means lots of Miyu goodness.
- I adore the look of satisfaction on Shinra's face. You just know she's gazing at all the cute girls thinking "And they're alll MINE."
- O_O Benisu personally scrubbing Shinra as they're in the bath together. Natose and Yume sleep together. Miyu sleeps naked and is getting excited over romance manga. I'm going to love this show.
- SHINRA IS FUCKING LOVE. She's all over Miyu. But curse you, Hato-nee...
- ...Wow. I really do love this show. Panties and thighhighs-only Miyu. This is absolutely my sexy guilty pleasure show of the season, to replace the now finished Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun.
- New girl... Anastasia Mistina. A masochist. Yume's friend. She's walking on her knees, grabbing her breasts and moaning a lot. Wow.
- And Keiko, but she looks too normal. Something must be wrong.
- The new characters keep coming, Kuki Ageha. Another ojou-sama and a friend of Yume, she beats up her butler as a sign of how she cares.
- Poor Benisu, he wakes up before she can gong him. Don't rob Benisu of her joy!
- Ren done fucked up. It's always a vase, isn't it? And he's angsting for like... 30 seconds :sd:
- But he passes anyway because Shinra has too much fun watching him get flustered.

Yeah, this is totally another show that's going to be a massssssssive fanservice tease, but what the heck, it's extremely fun anyway.
Indeed, and it even goes up a gear in Episode 3! Last season's mindless fanservice fest Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun has stiff competion in this and Rosario to Vampire.

I've accidentally backspaced my posts a few times, but I only use notepad for posts like my Touka Gettan ones. And those are so time consuming (they can double the amount of time it takes me to watch an episode) that I only do them rarely. Touka Gettan is the only time I've done it for an entire series and the only other time I did it was to try it out on an episode of School Days.

Episode 3 was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the capture the flag game they played. This is turning out to be a very amusing show even if it is pretty mindless.
With episode two this is definitely a keeper for the season. It's everything that Ninomiya was not as a fun fanservice show. What I wasn't expecting was for it to be so damn weird. Weird in a good way though, but after they introduced masochist girl I realized this show was going to be pretty unique. They did quite clearly show her climaxing right? About all that's left is to show something drizzling down her leg at some point. :sd:
I don't think I'll ever be able to watch this without thinking of Final Fantasy VII though (Shinra corporation).

Oh god episode 2 was just awesome. This is like my perfect guilty pleasure show. The Colonel is awesome, Shinra is hot, Miyu is also hot, Hang in there Yume! Mistina was just LOL LOL LOL, Yay Takana Rie = Ageha sama and the Colonel is so sexy it should be a sin.
Also I liked the next ed preview.
Benisu "Shinra sama is a great conductor, you know. I bet you have no clue of music.
Ren "You dummy just wait and see! *switches to Chiaki voice* Violin, play it more clearly! Cello play the rhythm with more care!
Also the proper intro for episode 3 is nice, and Colonel needs to deep into SaiGar.

The first episode alone had pretty much secured this a place in my lineup for this season- but the 2nd episode made it iron-clad. The comparisons to Ninomiya-kuuuun (ahem, sorry, wrong show) are somewhat understandable... but this one just strikes me as several levels above it. It took until the ramen episode for it to have me just staring at the screen with my mouth hanging open in disbelief- KimiAru pulled it off in the 2nd episode. Twice. (first the scenes of the sisters in the bath/bed, and again with Miyu 'showing off' at the top of the stairs). 'Guilty Pleasure' is definitely the best way to describe this show, and I'm loving it.

I'm in the same boat, but I think I made it to episode 7. It was an amusing series, but when I had other things going on, it was low on the list and I ended up not finishing it. I haven't played the game myself, but from what I've read, those who have are pleased that the anime is staying largely true to the game. One of the big "selling points" of this anime to game fans was the fact that the game's director was doing the series composition for the anime. So I think it's fairly safe to say that if you like the anime (and like/can get used to/can read and understand Japanese ero-AVGs...), you'll probably like the game too.

Same here. It's sort of "old guard" in that the show gets by on girls with big breasts alone with the fans who still seek that and that alone in a show. Kimi Aru is fun to watch and is shaping up to inject some actual depth into it's main characters.

Well truth be told my main reason for even considering continuing Ninomiya-kun would be Reika herself. Which means I'm apparently focused on a more modest chest. Still in terms of Kimi Aru itself, it remains to be seen how things go. The first two episodes were nice, but it can still fall apart.

Episode 3:
- Ren walks in on Benisu as she's changing. Somehow he manages to hold off PAIN by asking her to count prime numbers. But that only delays the inevitable.
- Then (by now seemingly obligatory) Initial D parody with the Colonel, who doesn't take kindly to being passed. Colonel and Ren are picking Shinra up from where she's conducting an orchestra rehearsal. Shinra starts teasing him the moment she sees him, tempting him into an "indirect kiss" and then making him admit out loud just what he was doing.
- And it continues at home. He hears her ring for him and he arrives quickly, catching her in a bra and pantyhose. She doesn't mind, of course. It's another chance to tease him. She gets a back massage (more like an ass massage) and tempts, tempts, tempts. Mmm, Shinra.
- Miyu calls for him and extracts him from this situation. She tells him that that's how Shinra is and if he wants to give up and go back to being Miyu's servant, he can. Meanwhile, a furious Benisu violently plucks a live chicken.
- He tries to calm himself down on the balcony and Natose comes to talk to him. Except she's wearing panties and nothing else. He runs off to the shower to "cool down", but Benisu is there, again. More pain.
- Oh GOD yes. The next morning Ren comes into Shinra's room... to find her and Miyu naked in bed. Miyu tells him to save her, but he tells himself he's Shinra's servant right now and can't. I'm sure that's the only reason >_>
- A topless Miyu comes down the stairs and collapses in Ren's arms saying she's been violated. Shinra comes down after her, telling her to give up and receive her eternal love. O_O Miyu tells her she can't get away with it, and challenges her with the "Kuonji Flag"
- Second part.
- The Kuonji Flag tradition holds that whoever gets the two flags of their opponents can make the losers do whatever they want for a day. Shinra has... interesting desires. Good god yes.
- Yume seems unconcerned :sd: Still, the idea of being queen for a day makes her smile, so Natose and trap say they're willing to do their best for her.
- But Shinra's team takes her flag right away. Natose gives chase and takes Ren down, but he plays the cute little brother card she's so weak against, stalling her enough for Shinra to place Yume's flag with hers.
- Then Miyu's team goes on the offensive, with Mihato against Benisu. Mihato takes Benisu down with, uh, bondage techniques. But Ren jumps in from the side and nabs Miyu's flag.
- As he's about to place it, De Niro and Miyu stop him. Miyu attacks with pantyshots but he perseveres, and Shinra wins. So now Shinra plans how she's going to pillage Miyu's sexy body, and I think Yume is jealous. :sd:
- Oh, and everyone forgot about trap.
- And uh, then Ren gets violated by the Colonel.
Then... clothes removal ED!
So, as much as I love this show, the animation is downright terrible. Not so much the designs or color or anything, those are fine. But the (lack of) fluidity is garbage. The "action" scenes in this were... yeaaaaaah. Not good. :sd: Oh well, doesn't matter too much, don't need a lot of movement for fanservice shots. It's just suuuuuuuch a blatantly low budget show though.

Honestly though, I've totally been more than amused enough at the show to really not care if the animation isn't as fluid as it could be at times. It's just good, mindless (appropriate, unlike certain other shows) fanservicey fun. I'm definitely hoping whatever happens that the show keeps its light tone... as much as I like drama and serious plot (which was IMO Ninomiya's problem- it tried to get too serious toward the end), sometimes it's better to have things just be fun and light.
And bouncy. Very bouncy.
As an aside, I will have to remember to check out the DVDs when they come out... there have been a number of scenes where I would be wholly unsurprised if the DVDs were at least a bit less censored (though I'm hoping they don't un-mosaic the final scene... -_-;; ).

Yeah, like I said it's not crucial to enjoying the show, but better animation could only help. It's just so damn stilted and cheap looking in motion. At least it seems to be up to the task for most of the fanservice scenes though.

Yes, she did seem jealous. I think there is an episode of possibilities right there: Yume tries to get Shinra to molest her instead in various ways. But she can't help but be curious why Shinra is so into Miyu, so she makes sure to molest Miyu herself at some point.

That would definitely be amusing- but I'm more thinking along the lines of removing some obstructions from the existing footage in a few scenes. Each episode has had at least one scene where they could very easily have animated it one way and then added another (very conspicuous) layer over the top for broadcast. Specifically- the 'lens-flare' like glows over Shinra in the bath in ep. 1, the similar effect from the light at the top of the stairs when Miyu was parading around topless in front of Ren, and the plant over Miyu's chest in the latest episode.
I would certainly not complain about this being a longer-running show... but I'll unfortunately be wholly unsurprised if it's only 13.

Oh those scenes will definitely be different in the DVD version, as soon as I saw the lens flare covering Shinra's ample chest I knew the DVD version was a must watch. I'm sure Ren's index finger covering Benisu's chest when he walked in on her the second time will also be moved. Also I'm sure we will get a nice glance at her breasts when her bra drops.

Episode 4:
- Poor Yume. Shinra comes out to where Yume and Natose are taking care of the garden and compliments Yume on the good job. As Yume starts to respond, Shinra gets distracted by a ladybug and stops listening. Yume looks depressed.
- Ren serves Miyu some tea, but it's too hot and she burns her tongue. Mihato soothes her with a popsicle, but Ren still gets reprimanded. Shinra exiles him to a southern island with the Colonel for training, but when Yume says she wants to go on a vacation down south too, everyone winds up going.
- Oh god Yume, if you want people to notice you that's a good start. Delicious Yume bikini! Same for Shinra, and Natose, and Benisu, and Mihato. But Miyu steals the show. She comes out with a towel wrapped around her yelling at Shinra who stole her bikini. Shinra yanks the towel off and... school swimsuit Miyu!
- But as Ren gets ready to enjoy the beach, the Colonel grabs him and drags him off to a butler training area, reserved only for important families. The Kuonji family... the Kuki family (Ageha's family)... and the Sanzenin family XD But damnit, don't take us away from the girls in bikinis =(
- They do some training and besides Ageha there's no girls so it's not important.
- At night, Yume scares Chiharu with... Blackbeard-tan? :sd: "Kono rorikon domome!" Miyu and Shinra get drunk... there is only one acceptable ending for this.
- Benisu and Natose are out gambling. Benisu pulls a Kaiji face o_O But it looks like the casino is about to get their money back no matter what.
- Mmm, it does end well back at the Kuonji place. Topless Miyu and Shinra sleeping together!
- Benisu goes into debt...
- And Ren comes back and sees panties-only Miyu stumbling around drunk. She makes him bathe her, and then she pukes all over the place.
- He heads back to the training cave and shows Colonel that he's progressed enough to advance to the next level. And Ageha starts to take a liking to him...

Judging from the preview showing Ren and Beni walking around halfway normally, I'd guess it gets resolved fairly easily... but not until they get at least a bit into Beni's past.
You just had to know when what was coming once Miyu started complaining about Shinra stealing her swimsuit, but that didn't make it any less amusing. :P
So far the episodes have primarily been set-up regarding the interactions between the characters... with it looking like they're going to get a bit into Beni's story next episode I wonder if they'll switch to focusing more on the individual characters. Either way, I hope they won't let it get too serious...

I feel sorry for Yume. She's talking to Onee-sama and then Shinra sees a lady bug and completely ignores her.
And Miyu is in her 20s? Bullshit.
Too much Ren butler crap, not enough hot girls at the beach and imoutocest.
Ah, this is why there were saying Miyu is in her 20s even though I've no doubt that she's about 16 (in the game).
I'm really surprised at how much they are showing the whole Imoutocest thing. Not that I'm complaining, far from it.
I wasn't a big fan of Beni at first, but over the last two episodes, particularly this one, I find myself liking her more. Her whole "I hate Ren" schtick was dull but she's more entertaining when she's doing other things, like gambling.
Nagi needs to get some pointers from Shinra. Then she needs to adopt Ayumu as her imouto.
And it looks like they may actually attempt character development and backstory and try to be at least a little bit serious (though I guess we did get a little bit of that with Ren and his sister's past). And it might work.
On another note, is it just me or is this episode much better in the art/animation department. Which is to say, it actually looked decent rather than weep for the lack of budget.

Heh, probably. She's a "college graduate" but so was I at 22. And I'd have expected she skipped some grades, but I don't think they say. If she skipped even a few it'd be tough to make her ~22 or so. Ren's reaction to her being a graduate was simply because she looks younger, I guess, but I certainly thought she was ~18 or so too.

Well, she's the middle sister, and Yume is in High School- so she's at least a few years older than her. Early 20's wouldn't surprise me that much- she can't be that far into her 20's though because I doubt Shinra (the eldest) is any older than mid-to-late 20's.

They say she's in high school. That's the kind of thing they can change easily enough if she was originally a middle schooler (which wouldn't surprise me). And they don't (I think) say what year she is. If she's a first year (which seems about right), Miyu would likely be a third year or college first year at the highest, if she was on level. As for Shinra, I doubt she's older than 24 and she's probably closer to 20.
Of course, these are anime characters, so judging their ages by their looks is, ah, problematic at best.

Especially since an official age of "27" in anime pretty much means you're a senior citizen. In most shows, Shinra's character design would be given an age of 18, tops...

but miyu is suppose to be the "loli" character... so she looks extremely young for her age. even younger than yume... heck if you were to line up all 3 I would of thought miyu was the youngest.
Yume is the captain of the track team right? so that would mean she has to be either a 2nd year or 3rd year... or 17-18.
you can never really tell how old a characters is by their looks in an anime. if the game says that Shinra is 27... then Yume would be 18 and a 3rd year in HS. Miyu could be 21 to 24, depending on how many years if any she skipped.

I tried to watch this last night
it went something like this
Show: Hey there, this is, They Are My Noble Masters.
Me: Cool, what are you about?
Show: Well I'm about this poor broke guy who becomes a butler to a rich girl and her friends and has fun echii adventures!
Me: oh so this is a echii version of Hayate No Gotoku?
Show: Yah Wanna watch?
Me: Sure
*show starts, intro to theme starts*
Me: Whoa this is really familiar with the purple sky and the narrator talking about the butler in third person, a lot like Hayate.
Show: Yeah ^_^;
*the show continues until we're introduced to a blonde haired girl*
Me: Woh is that Nagi? She looks just like her!
Show: Sure, sure.
Me: So wait a second, what is your connection to Hayate, are you the original creators who felt the original series wasn't echii enought?
Show: Well not exactly...
Me: So your a different group of people who were picked to work on a echii version?
Show: Well...its not like that..either
Me: Ok so then the studio forced the original creators to a contract that gave them the rights to create a echii version?
Show: Um, no.
Me: Oh then your paying them royalties and decided to do this all by yourself?
Show: Nope.
Me: FUCK YOU!

How much Hayate have you seen? These two shows really aren't that similar, and I'm current on both.

something is right- it's easy to draw parallels between the two shows (and KimiAru does make jabs at Hayate- see the sign on the Butler Training Cave in ep. 4 for an example...), but they stay parallel (i.e., never intersecting) and very different (and I, like something am up-to-date on both shows, at least as they've been subbed).
Both are excellent, but very different. KimiAru is obviously far more ecchi than Hayate but also relies far less on Otaku in-jokes, and the characters really don't compare at all. I assume by 'blond girl' you mean Miyu- who yes probably is the closest to Nagi of the cast but that's like saying that a bell pepper is the closest vegetable to a watermelon because both are green.
I think discounting it because of comparisons to Hayate is foolish... but then if you simply didn't enjoy it, that's a different matter entirely. :noodle:

Episode 5:
- Haha, what the hell. The big crisis is resolved by the Colonel in a single spin of a roulette wheel. He uses... the power of his hair to control storms? Thus Natose and Beni are saved from having to pole dance in essentially nothing. They look good as bunny girls though. And that's that.
- The shittacular animation continues, but the girls remain hot nonetheless. Miyu applying lotion to Mihato... Mmmm. Then Ren manages to cop a feel on Miyu, though that invokes DeNiro's wrath.
- Huh, when did the silhouettes come back? I mean, come on, it's not like they're using any of their budget on anything else in this show, can they seriously not at least throw together some basic crowd designs?
- Anyway, Ren and Beni go shopping, and run into a local girl that tries to pick Ren's pocket. Beni stops her but treats her kindly. Ren asks the Colonel about it, and finds out that Beni was once an impoverished orphan in much the same situation.
- Once again they're out shopping and the come across the same girl being apprehended by another guy she tried to rob. Beni warns him to leave the girl alone but then his friends show up, and they tell Beni they'll let the girl go if Beni comes with them.
- Beni and Ren are tied up in the basement of the guys' villa. Ren provokes them into beating him up so they take their attention off of Beni. Back at the Kuonji place, the local girl tells Mihato and the rest that they were captured, and the gang gets ready for a rescue operation.
- While they're waiting, we get Beni's backstory, and more examples of how awesome the Colonel is.
- ...Natose totally just killed or paralyzed someone. They even cut to an x-ray view of his vertebrae fracturing o_O Anyway, she, Miyu, Chiharu, Colonel and Hato-nee beat the crap out of the guys and rescue Beni and Ren.
- Then, some fireworks, and more of Ren walking in on a half dressed Benisu, etc.
So, it's still fun as a sexy guilty pleasure series, but the animation is so stiff and overall awful that it's finally starting to negatively impact my enjoyment of the show. I really hope they get it together soon, or massively improve it for DVD.

I thought the resolution to the gambling debt thing was stupid. Beni's backstory worked out pretty well and the rescue mission was pretty amusing, particularly Hato-nee's dark side coming out. The rest was a mixed bag.

On one hand the casino resolution was kind of well weak, but they make up for it by concentrating more on Beni's back story instead. Fun ways to take out people. Also in terms of the preview. I will say yeah because I've watched Kamen Rider 555, I recognize that line. Which reminds me. Once more I must say it. Standing by..... Awakening!
In any case I'm not sure what to think about the series right now. It still has it's fun flair, but it's starting to reach the same problem of several others shows cut from the same cloth. Where it feels like it's well just there. That sure I have a good time, but I'll likely feel empty in the end. Perhaps I'll give it one more episode, but I am starting to have mixed feelings.

First off is it just me or was this episode better animated than the rest? Anyway this was one of the better episodes and it had the most parodies by far. Death Note, Gurren Lagann, D-Gray Man, Sailor Moon are just some of them with the best being Mihato doing Fist of the North Star.
Next episode seems to start the Ageha arc, god I love her voice in this show, I'm hoping she uses something similar for her character Tsukiumi (<3) from Sekirei (summer anime) if they keep the same VA's from the drama cd.
Is this really confirmed for 13 episodes? Let's say Ageha takes up 7 and 8 that only leaves 5 episodes for Miyu, Mihato and Shinra...

That episode was a parody worthy of Hayate comparison. I thought it was great. Poor Yume though, she just has no persona. It's funny after they show more of each girl, I like them more, because like Beni before her, Yume wasn't one of my favorites and she still isn't, but I like her more than I did before.

Let's see Shinra is hot, Shinra loves pandas, lol@ the Miyu and Colonel bribes, Ageha is just awesome, we need more girls fighting in bath robes and finally Ren gets a proper kiss from Ageha. Also I'm expecting Mihato to go berserk sooner than later lol...
Next ep preview looks interesting mainly because of the reaction from Shinra.

Ah this was a vast improvement over the last episode. Yume was awesome in this. She makes a sexy magical girl. Plus you have to feel sorry for her character, but then again in some ways that might make her the most unique. Remember the true oddball in an oddball series is the normal person.

As expected, eps. 7 and 8 are devoted to Ageha as she moves in to the Kuonji manor after Kojuurou is injured while training and, of course, sets about taking Ren for herself. The highlights of this arc had to be her 'presents' for the members of the Kuonji household (read: bribes to gloss over any objections to her staying there). Apparently Miyu has something of a Shouta complex. :P But by far the most amusing was her present (temporary, as even she could only get them on loan...) to Shinra and Shinra's reaction to it. I think she blew it big-time though in not getting Mihato anything.
Things played out about how you'd expect them to- honestly things were a bit predictable, but still just lots of fun to watch. I've lost track- has anyone been counting how many of her 'secret items' Mihato has pulled out? I know they said early on how many there were, I'm curious whether the freaking blowfish she pulled out of Kami-knows-where in this episode counts against that number or not. Mihato continues to be one of the more amusing characters... she's definitely got to be a not-too-distant relative of Miyazaki Miyako.
Hard to tell from the preview, but it sounds like Natose is up next? That should be interesting...

Heh this episode seemed to have a partial serious feel to it, but then again that could be misleading. Not sure what to think of Ageha though. Which I guess is better to speak about in the currently watching thread.

- No pantsu Yume. Damn censorship =( She's shining!
- Yume Note XD And her fantasy... oh god, boxcutters. XD Also, too many fucking translation notes, guys And mahou shoujo Yume! She broke the galaxy...
- Haha, the scene where they all try to bring out a new character for Yume is fantastic. They're going a bit heavy on the parodies, but neko-Shinra, pink elephants, "you will disappear from this scene in 5 seconds" etc. All great.
- Heh, double kiss attack! That scene SHOULD have ended with Natose and Yume kissing each other, but whatever.
- A new member of the Kuonji household...?
Yeah, really short post but it also felt like a short episode. Pretty good though! I really enjoy Yume so it's good to see her get the spotlight. Needs more fanservice though.

- Mmmm Shinra boobies. But not enough, needs more more more more fanservice! And I think I want it most from Miyu and Yume...
- Haha oh no, the new family member is Ageha. I looove how she bribes everyone. Dancing boys for Miyu! XD Pandas for Shinra! Ice cream for Yume to drop on her shirt, which makes her remove said shirt. YES! Doesn't go so well for Ren though...
- You have to hand it to Ageha though. She can train as hard as any of the butlers, and then some. I also love those oddly out of place moments where Ren suddenly becomes a really smooth talker.
- Man, things got really pretty awesome near the end. I've come to really like Ageha, especially with how she handles the assassins (towel!). And totally makes out with Ren XD Also nice was Hato-nee's reaction, and more importantly Miyu hugging her. And they didn't make a joke out of it either, though they did cut to stupid Kojuurou.

- Myu-tan is worried that Ageha's continued presence (longer than scheduled) is going to cause more problems, especially with Mihato, her personal attendant. Getting Shinra to listen will take some doing though.
- Hahah, oh god. Hato-nee wants to cook a special meal for Ageha... Fugu >_> Hato-nee gets scary.
- Ageha is really starting to fall for Ren. It's nice they're getting along, and I am liking her more and more, but the rest of the household isn't going to stand for his being monopolized much longer.
- But it's not until Ageha requests that Ren cook (and they taste the horror that results) that Shinra finally agrees that it's time to do something about all this.
- And so after Kojuurou catches Ageha kissing Ren, a challenge is called out... one the Kuonjis are all too happy to stack against Ren, because if he loses, Ageha goes :sd:
- But Kojuurou wasn't healed yet - he was so worried he left the hospital too soon, and collpases the third game. Ageha acknowledges his loyalty and agrees to return home.
Well, I think the Ageha arc was a success. I sort of feared I'd dislike it, but I didn't at all.

Episode 9:
- Miyu's turn! Miyu Miyu Miyu!! For a time, Miyu makes Ren her servant along with Mihato. This involved cleaning her lingerie by hand and scrubbing her down for her bath.
- Fuck, that is one evil incredibly random beam of light. Myu-tan, you're proof small is okay too! Also, Miyu looks great with her hair up. And she's such a shotacon XD
- The way her boobs move slightly back and forth while Ren scrubs below them was... ...a nice touch. A very, very nice touch and I think I need to go take a shower.
- She even has Mihato and Ren sleep with her. "Miyu-san is truly an adult," notes Ren, finally. Why yes, yes she is. Mmm.
- A tempting one... too tempting for Ren. He reaches over when she's asleep (and naked...) and *pokes* her boob. Except, Hato-nee saw him, and makes him regret it. :sd: Hate-nee Black comes out.
- The next day Ren gets in a tussle with DeNiro who is raping a ricecooker. Miyu punishes them both with a leek attack! (That's at least the second Vocaloid parody in an anime now... It's only a matter of time before Miku and Rin get their own show.)
- So with all that aside we start to get into the latest sorta-serious twist in the story. We find out that the Kuonji sisters' father was an incredibly well respected man. Now just rich and powerful, but involved in environmental protection and other charitable endeavors. Shinra seems to have a bit of a complex about him, especially when her interviewers spend most of the time talking about him instead of her.
- Shinra comes home after this and gets a bit pissy, turning off the game Miyu and Yume are playing and yelling at them for not considering their future. Miyu slaps down a large envelope of money (her patent royalties and also her living expenses for the month) and runs off angry, surprising Shinra.
- Then Yume imagines what would happen if Miyu became a delinquent, and it's hilarious. Even better is Benisu imagining her as a death metal rocker... TWINTAILS FOREVER!
- Shinra is about to run after and confront Miyu when Ren stops her and asks her to take a second look at Miyu - everyone respects her, she makes a lot of money, she knows the most about running the house. She's not just wasting her time sitting around. Shinra understands, and goes and apologizes to Miyu.
- At dinner, Miyu tells everyone her dream - to start up a new restaurant business somewhere, where friends and family can enjoy themselves just like they're all doing here. Everyone agrees that's a wonderful thing.
- Given the good mood all around, Yume decides to tell them her plan too. She's going to get a part time job and find what she's interested in! It's pretty important to her, but the only response she gets is a halfhearted "Oh that's good" from Shinra, who immediately goes back to doting on Miyu along with everyone else.
Yume gets extremely depressed and goes back to her room alone, unnoticed by anyone, except Natose. Natose goes to her and Yumi bursts into tears asking why it's only Miyu and Shinra everyone cares about.
Poor Yume. ;_; If you look back at everything that happened to her, it's no wonder the poor girl has a complex. But still, this was an awesome Miyu episode. Miyu is my favorite <3

Episode 10:
- Yume looks at a photo album and cries, Natose prays for the strength to protect Yume, then the OP starts.
- Natose asks her to just talk to Shinra about it directly. Yume imagines a fantasy scenario brimming with sisterly love, and to her surprise that is how it starts out when tries it. Shinra said she's been longing to embrace Yume too, but always held back because of what Yume said during their parents' funeral.
- Except Yume can't remember what that was, and this angers Shinra quite a bit. She sends Yume away and starts avoiding her, refusing to forgive her until she remembers. Is it just me or is Shinra being incredibly petty? She expects Yume to remember something from like ten years ago, on a night when she's bawling her eyes out at their parents funeral? Seriously? Miyu basically says as much, telling Shinra to grow up.
- Poor Chiharu, everyone ignores him :sd:
- Yume locks herself up in her room and doesn't come to dinner. Natose goes to check on her and finds out she's gone - she's run away! The servants run off to find her. Ren moves to follow, but first delivers a plea to Shinra to reconsider her behavior. He seems to get to the heart of the matter, and Miyu tells him to find Yume while she takes over dealing with Shinra.
- Natose finds Yume and Ren catches up. They grab some food and talk, and we find out that Natose's whole family was killed in a tsunami, which is the reason behind her strong feelings for wanting to protect the Kuonjis. Oh, and it explains her eyepatch too.
- Back home, Shinra is a nervous wreck, constantly asking why they don't call and report in.
- Yume finally remembers what it is she said. On the day of the funeral, she and Miyu cried profusely but Shinra never shed a tear, seeking to be the dependable older sister who they'd all need from now on. but Yume told her she was scary, like a robot who couldn't cry. Ok, sure I can see how that would hurt, but to hold off in being intimate with her for this long?
- As Natose tells Yume there's always a chance for reconciliation, Miyu does the same for Shinra. God I love Miyu so much~ Seeing her hug and reassure Shinra = win.
- Just before Yume gets back, Miyu tells Hato-nee about what's behind all this, and Hato-nee hugs her, saying she knows how it feels to lose your parents. Miyu is about to ask what she means (as far as she knows they ran away from home and weren't actually orphaned) when Yume arrives.
- Yume runs to Shinra, who smacks her. She says that was for making her worry... and then they embrace. Yay, maybe we'll see Shinra molesting Yume in bed now!
And poor Chiharu shivers in the cold all alone in the city calling for Yume. He's forgotten again :sd:
So I said before I didn't want this show getting too serious, but it's handling it perfectly well when it does, so I don't mind one bit.

- Team Yume (Yume, Natose, Ren) offer to help him out. Oh and we get a NICE BOAT reference.
- Chiharu tells them who he loves, and it's Benisu. They... all think he's joking :sd:
- They suggest he set up a date, and apparently Benisu loves baseball, so they go to a game. But Benisu mentions Ren over and over, and even admits to liking him a little. Er, okay. This of course leaves Chiharu bummed and ready to give up.
- It's time for the flower viewing... and Miyu is in despair! :sd: Oh god.
- Natose fails at jokes, DeNero fails at singing. Shinra puts on a cosplay show with Miyu, complete with Fate/Stay Night references. Ageha "carves" a statue by kicking a metal pipe into shape.
- ...NES-style music while the Colonel rapes a thief in the bathroom.

This series needs a major, major animation overhaul when it gets on DVD. This episode looked absolutely awful. I feel like I'm watching some amateur animation put together by a couple high school students for art class.
The ep could have been alright if better animated, but as it is it wasn't all that enjoyable. Not enough to overcome the ugliness, at least. So I didn't like it very much, outside a few scenes.

12 and 13, as expected, deal with the return of Ren and Mihato's father, as well as a really important concert Shinra is putting on. Contrary to the usual for me, I'm not going to type out a whole lot on it. The ending was mildly predictable as was how they got there- but it was still enjoyable. In the end of course not a whole lot (like who exactly Ren was going to end up serving permanently) got resolved, but that should have been fairly well expected. I think expecting anything particularly deep out of this show would have been pretty unrealistic anyway. It was fun and fanservicy, and I'll be keeping my eye out for the DVD versions to see what all we missed in the broadcast version (quite a lot in the final episode, I imagine...).

About the one post vs two post thing, while giving each episode its own subthread is usually the way to go, I don't think it's a big deal here since no episode 12 subthread was ever made before 13 was available subbed anyway. ::shrugs:: People can just watch both before reading the posts, which presumably they'd plan on doing anyway since the show is over now.
Episode 12:
- Well this episode gets off to a good start. Miyu stretching in her lingerie. Shinra fondling Benisu's breasts, followed by Miyu's.
- But then holy crap, glare and steam like mad while Hato and Miyu bathe.
- Things get good between Shinra and Ren, but I'm just impatient to see the Colonel uppercut Ren's dad.
- Aww, Shinra gets criticized by her mentor. That's not cool. No doubt it's meant as a way to remind her that in her quest to live up to her father's legacy, she's working too hard on being perfect and not hard enough on moving people's hearts, and all those other little life lessons anime likes to impart.
- XD Shinra wants to go out without getting noticed, so who better to choose her outfit than the girl nobody notices? Oh Yume.
- A ponytail Shinra is fine too.
- Ick, that emotional outburst didn't work at all. Ren and Shinra get a great mood going, and Ren merely says that he thinks he can understand how she feels... and she snaps. That was handled extremely clunkily. Shinra's bitchiness was really forced.
And oh god, Ren's dad is such a one dimensional villain. Here's hoping they get rid of him by the halfway point of 13, because he's just going to be awful.
Episode 13:
- Shinra fires Ren... she's being retarded.
- Ren and Mihato's father is an idiotic character. He's the kind of singleminded bastard with no redeeming values who is full of hate and nothing else, and exists only to drag everyone else around him down and set our protagonist into a fit of self-doubt and angst. I guess I'm glad they waited this long to try and bring in the FAMILY DORAMA because it was inevitable it'd fall flat, and dealing with it for an episode + 2 mins is better than a multi-episode arc.
- Wahahaha. Miyu singlehandedly makes all the stupidity drain away. She walks into Miyu's room, turns down the light, and says "I'm not wearing any underwear." She then tells Shinra she can do whatever she wants to her if she'll revoke Ren's termination. Shinra is only able to decline with the utmost regret. Fucking win.
- Good, it took a grand total of maybe 8 minutes of screentime to bring Shinra around. Wise decision. Now deal with the silly father plotline within the next 6 minutes and spend the rest of the episode on fanservice filled epilogue, PLEASE.
- Daddy makes his move, and Benisu sees. Oh god, please let Benisu beat the shit out of him. That would be ORGASMIC.
- His dad starts beating him up. Argh, hit him back Ren. Screw all the talk about "oh noes I will become violent just like daddy!" That stuff is for more serious shows. I just want to see you hadouken him into the pacific ocean. Violence is okay for a good cause! =D
- BLAAAAAAAAAAH. Ren just reverts to a whimpering pussy who can't stand up to his father. Okay okay, I know, childhood abuse, mental trauma, not easy for anyone to overcome, years of therapy needed, not a laughing matter... but psh, leave it with an anime that cares. Make with the beatdown damnit! Again, violence solves everything! Jeeze, don't the Japanese know how to impart proper lessons to their citizens?
- YAY BEATDOWN! Leave it to Beniko to start it, though she takes a hit in return that she'd totally shrug off in any other scene. But it results in Ren beating dad up, so I'm happy.
- Yaaaaaaaaaaaay! Best of both worlds. Ren pulls back and avoids becoming like his father and all that Jerry Springer jazz, while Beniko takes up the slack and pummels the bastard. Wahahahaah. I love the message: Ren, you shouldn't use violence! Let us do it for you =D Miyu gets in on it too. Too bad the Colonel didn't "educate" him in a bathroom like the poor sap in episode 11.
And a fun epilogue. Too bad they felt the need to redeem the father at the end. Who needs redemption, throwing him off a bridge would have worked much better. =D They built him into such a monster that the attempt at redeeming him came off incredibly silly.
Really, they could have ditched the entire father subplot and just had things wrap up when Shinra finds her own sound again, then given us more fanservice. But it ended well regardless.
If I had to pick a favorite character, it's still Miyu. Beyond that, it's pretty tough. I adored Shinra and Yume in their own ways. The Colonel was just badass in every scene. Natose and Beniko were great when coupled with their masters, and Hato-nee was usually pretty amusing. Ageha was surprisingly interesting in her mini arc, and Ren was, with a few exceptions, a very serviceable male lead.
I feel like I'm forgetting someone... ::cough:: =P
Two shows completed tonight. Looks like things are finally winding down for the Fall 07 and Winter 08 slate, hopefully leaving me time for the upcoming fall shows.

Having just finished this, I must say that Kimiaru is Hayate no Gotoku done right! Extremely entertaining with a great cast of characters and a nice ending. A lot of the fanservice was funny. The only regular cast member that I thought served no purpose was the SM girl - she might have been funny the 1st time but her appearance got old very quickly. Does anyone else think that Natose might have been Indonesian? They made it clear that Japanese was not her 1st language and I'm thinking that the tsunami destruction was refering to the big one in Aceh in 2004.
Can someone please enlighten me on the extra animation that they added to the DVDs?

I haven't seen the TV release so I can't do a actual comparison, but there's nipples in the opening theme when Shinra is in the bath. I would guess that was the only change since there's lots of glare/steam in the shower scene which was the only other nude part of the episode (aside from lots of panty shots from Miyu and Yume). The first DVD only has one episode. The second one should have episode 2 and 3, so I could say if there was more nudity in it or not.

Nipples aside, it would go to see if they added... welll... animation. Because damn the TV series was ugly more than a few times. It's definitely a candidate for some major cleanup work.

Well, the animation is better than NHK ni yokoso, but that isn't saying much. It seems to be pretty standard fair for a low budget bishoujo port to me. If you know of an episode that hits new lows in animation excellence, then I can keep an eye out for it. It may be a while though at 2 episodes a disc.

I glanced over some of my per-ep comments and 5 and 11 seem to have annoyed me a lot. Others too, but I might have just not said anything. There were multiple episodes where the bad animation actually impacted my enjoyment of the show, almost like 3dcg would have though not quite THAT badly.
