I too will be picking this up because Emma and Shuffle are on the DVD. Kanon on the centerfold is a nice bonus, too.

I got my copy over the weekend. The Shuffle spread might be one of the sexiest spreads NTUSA has ever done, and the Kanon centerfold is :beat: :beat: :beat: .
I already watched the Shuffle episode a few times and I'll check out the Emma episode later. Perhaps this will convince me to place a pre-order for the season sets if I like what I see.

Nice list of features, especially Gurren Lagann, Tokyo Marble Chocolate, and Ghost Hound. As always, NTExpress is worth checking out. I really can't wait to get my copy.

Don't know if it matters to you, but ...

A quick note though: What appears on the NTUSA disc is using the first batch of Emma video masters we received. The video masters we are using for the box sets are anamorphic widescreen.

you know... i'm thinking of picking up several copies. since it's the last issue of NewType USA, it may be worth something in years to come!
however, i'm rather lazy when it comes to selling anything on eBay...

It doesn't matter what format the episode on the sampler DVD is being used. I'm only interested in the content of the episode itself.

If you happen to have an extra copy of issue #1, I would be willing to grab it from ya! (This question goes out to everyone.) I've been looking for a copy and refuse to check eBay.

HUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAAAAAAAH! Emma in widescreen is going to be great :virgin:

I'm thinking of buying a second issue to go with my subscribed to one. That way I could keep one issue unmolested and take out the Kanon and Shuffle art from the other.

FYI, You can actually watch (in postage stamp-o-vision naturally) the first two eps of Shuffle on the FUNi site (http://funimation.com/shuffle/)

I know, but some people (including me) were having trouble with the buffering on the website. It was playing too slow and wasn't loading fast enough.
Meanwhile I did watch the Emma episode last night. Looks like that TRSI is going to have another pre-order for Emma very shortly. :)

Yeah, and even though Newtype USA's end had been announced in other media, I found the blurb on the very bottom of the last page saying that was the last issue, and in tiny text to boot to have been more than a tad cheesy.
Still, N-USA's swan song was pretty good. I particularly loved the art of Blood+ and have already read through it three times since I've been jonesing to see this show for ages, and now that it's finally coming out on DVD, I'm jazzed beyond belief to watch it. As for the free DVD, I found Emma to have been interesting, I might check that out, however, Shuffle! I can live without as harem shows bore the hell out of me.
In any event, I'll certainly miss N-USA.
Silly/stupid question time from me. Could someone that has their issue flip to the series currently airing spoiler section(if it's still in there) and see if Kimikiss is listed and tell me which episodes are listed?

If you're talking about the section I think you are, it was removed a while back. But that's not a stupid question.
(KimiKiss should be around episode 17 as of the 02/02.)

Ah, thanks Pasta. Yeah 17 just aired and the spoilers from Newtype Japan's Jan issue only came up to 17 so I figured I'd ask since all of the stores close to me are sold out

A quick question - the Newtype Express JP section on Mnemosyne. Is the picture there censored? Where are the nipples?

If it is (which I wouldn't know), then it's probably because of the underage readers. Not everyone who reads is 18+.
