Fantastic atmosphere and gameplay elements let down by repetitiveness.
Nice combat system based around counters. No real ending.

Overall it was one of the highlights of last year and well worth buying.

Got this for Christmas. Great game with great gameplay and controls and gorgeous graphics. The only two real downsides are that it gets repetitive eventually and there's no real ending.

Disappointing. A good base for a better game, but it had no feeling to it. The story seemed well though but badly executed. The gameplay was fun, but doing it nine times was as annoying as listening to "Apply Directly to the Forehead" hours at a time.

All the possible fun things they could have added to make it various was lost in this "go here kill him" mechanic. Truly disappointing. So much so I've just lost faith in Ubisoft until the next splinter cell, which if that doesn't raise the bar that was set in splinter cell 1 and 3 then ubisoft lost me as a fan.

I couldn't finish it. I got kind of bored after an assassination and a half...didn't help with all the other games around the same time. :tired:

I enjoy it a lot but haven't beat it yet. But that's mainly because I'm spending too much time running across roofs and trying to collect stuff since I find exploring this type of area fun. I admit the gameplay it repetitive, but the game is polished for what it is.

It is an all right game. Definitely worth picking up for $30, but NOT anywhere close to $60. The game started out really good, but by the 4th area it is boring as all hell and you find out there is no way to be stealthy at all. Every main target has to be killed in a crowd or something. Plus the game has no ending. Think of Star Wars, and when Vader says, "Luke, Obiwan never told you..." and then credits start rolling right there, THAT is how this game ended. I have yet to trade it in, as I'm still debating if I want to keep it or not, but the second one is going to have to be really drastic if they want me to bother with it.

Sadly, I'd call it as overrated as anything out since the days of Black and White. The whole stink of payola regarding published reviews does not help it any, either.

In short, in terms of the action side of things, I thought the same team did far better work on the Prince of Persias. It didn't need to be a GTA style sandbox, but interactions and interactivity outside the mission template would have helped immensely. From the stealth/killing side, I enjoyed Thief more. The whole 'interactive' button presses in real-time and then watch some cool cutscene just happens to be the current flaor of the month across multiple games; but has not been 'fresh' since Dragon's Lair.

I thought Assassin's creed was alright but average

I mean, it's pretty and it's fun to scale the buildings but the gameplay itself is too repetative.
