Looks like Hime-chan no Ribon is getting the singles treatment after being released as three boxsets in 2005. They will be released 2-3 volumes at a time once a month starting in May with volumes 1-3. Will be 11 volumes altogether at 3800 yen each.
I missed the pricey boxsets the first time, so I'll definitely be picking up these singles. Does anyone know if there's any chance of a box (boxes?) coming with any of these, like they did with the last volume of each season of Sailormoon? I doubt it, but singles look so lonely without boxes to keep them warm. :P

Seriously? Sweet! I stayed away from the high-priced boxsets and missed the boat, but I'll definitely look into this :) This won't be for a limited time, will it? It'll take me a very long time for save up for and get all 11 volumes.
I checked CDJapan, I don't see it there. Hopefully they'll have it available for preorder soon.

I went with Amazon JP. Am I missing something? Even though Amazon's shipping is more expensive, it ends up being about 2000 yen cheaper (for 3 volumes) than CD Japan (which will add up to quite a bit over the whole series). But I haven't ordered R2s in over a year, so... :sd:

Very strange. Nothing showed up at all when I did a search. Guess I goofed :/

This might be a better question for the recommendations forum, but I'd like to know a little more about this show (as I have seen some relatively cheap secondhand boxes recently).
I have loved shows like Aqua Age, Baby and Me, and Fancy Lala. What I saw of Miracle Girls bored me, but that had more to do with the flat execution and lack of surprises than the subject matter itself.
How does this one stack up?
(As a total aside, someone really should rerelease the old Fashion Lala OVA, since far too few fashion shows get attacked by biker gangs, both in anime and real life.)

I love this show - it's one of my favorite shoujo.
Basically, it's mahou without the "save the world from a greater evil/monster of the week" aspect. There is a magical world and a princess involved, but no set villian. Himeko uses her magical item (a ribbon that allows her to transform into any living, non-fictional person on Earth) to help her friends and family in day-to-day life. She struggles with her feelings for her senpai, keeping the ribbon a secret from others, etc. It's pretty cute.
Here's more info (be careful of spoilers): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hime-chan's_Ribbon

Thanks much for the info. That sounds like something I'd like, though I think I'll wait to see if my local rental place gets the singles in.
