This was Hiromi Tsuru's :beat: debut VA role when she was 19 (in 1979). Anime was great even then!
Very sweet, yet poignant series. You'll be hooked after episode 1, well I was.

Alright! I'm not really an active fan of any voice actors in particular, but I do like my World Masterpiece Theater shows -- especially the early ones like Perrine.
Now I wonder if there would be any trouble importing a set into Japan...

I got something from YesAsia once (as well as a couple orders from a Korean DVD site), didn't have any problems.

They have the same cover art, so I just want to make sure... You have the Hong Kong version (the one currently in stock at YA) and not the Taiwanese version (currently out of stock), eh?
Both say they have English subs, but I just wanted to make sure you have the HK version so I "know" what I'm getting.

The set I got (several years ago) was bought from Yesasia & the boxes are identical to those sold now IIRC (don't have them with me).
However I think mine were the Taiwanese, as they were PIM

Seems like same product to me, just different licensee for different country. The TW does state Mandarin dub while HK states Cantonese, so there could be a difference I guess.

I have the Compilation movie for the series, but given that it has sub + it's a Hiromi show then why not ! :notworthy:
how's the sub & picture quality btw ?

PQ is OK for a late 70s show, on a 25 CRT screen anyway. There are 5 eps to a disc so should not be too much compression.
Subs are some OK, some less, but the dialogue is simple (cartoon for younger children), so its not really a big problem IMO.
