The end of the month is drawing near and all the big releases are now out, so I figured now is as good a time as any to start the thread!

N+ (XB360 Arcade)
This game is punishing me. I cannot for the life of me get past the 14th episode because of the brutal last level. I've already got the 1000 death achievement. :sd:

MLB 08: The Show (PSP)
Still love the "Road to the Show" mode. Mgmt still keeping me in AA ball despite my .370 BA, 11 HRS, and 70RBIs.

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (XB360)
Bought this on a whim today, as I needed a fulfilling game for April to keep my fingers healthy for when GTAIV arrives. Never played this series, so I'm going to drop right in and figure it out as I go. If anyone wants to play co-op or mp online and give me tips, let me know!

I'm still tempted with Dark Sector, but it sounds like there's not enough game for $60, so I'll probably catch it after a price drop. Looks cool though. And I'm also waiting for reviews on Universe at War: Earth Assault. I would've picked it up today as well on a whim, but no one has it in stock yet.

Same with me man. Need something to fill the void until Mario Kart Wii and GTA IV and was considering R6 Vegas 2 and Dark Sector as well as Condemned 2.
Keep going to go for the plunge but never do as the reviews I've read has them all as pretty average games so I may just wait for them to come down in price.

Well, damn. After searching everywhere swearing I had bought something (But not something...), it turns out I don't think I did...

I technically bought Wild ArmsXF for the PSP, but it's being saved for my birthday, so I haven't recieved it yet.

Did any RPGs/SRPGs come out this month? Maybe the games I'm remembering were last month. I had no idea why I seemed to have so much extra money this month... Now I know :sd:

I can't remember what I actually bought and kept vs. bought and traded in... :sd:

PSP
FFVII: Crisis Core
This is the first PSP game I've bought since...October, I think. :sd: What better way to dig it out of the dust than play a new FF game.

XBox 360
Army of Two - I had good fun with it, but with six missions and no real extra goodies to go with it, it's kind of hard to keep...so I traded it in. :tired:

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - I wasn't going to buy it...but then I saw the positive reviews...and Fry's $39.99 one-day sale on it, and figured "What the hell." I haven't been regretting it so far. My only gripe is the audio is inconsistent on my TV - voices are too low, and gunfire too loud. Makes for a very puzzling experience.

Condemned 2: Bloodshot - This wasn't even a thought in my head. I heard it was better than the first, but that wasn't solid enough for me. Fry's came to the rescue again by offering it for $39.99. I bit, and I must say, I'm glad I did this one on impulse...it just feels better in every way.

Wii
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
I'm not explaining this one. No explanation needed. :P

What pushed me over the edge for R6V2 was solid co-op and online play to keep my interest going. It's a pretty big community of players, so at least I'll know the servers will have games to play.

I'm hoping I'll be better at this than the standard FPS games since it's a slower paced, tactical shooter. Not good with twitchy shooting controls.

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (DS)
Wild Arms XF (PSP)
Suikoden IV (PS2, used)

I think that's everything for this month.

Yes, playing the campaign cooperatively (without it being watered down ala Vegas 1) is a blast; playing T-Hunt will test some players patience...but it's still so much fun to try and beat!

Sometimes you'll wish you had twitch shooting controls. :sd: But Vegas 2 is a refreshing break after playing a bunch of breakneck FPSes...hopefully this will help keep me more calm than trying to do something like the final mission in Call of Duty 4 on Veteran...stupid plane and its 1-minute time limit. Bah!

Just two for the PS2 for me: Final Fantasy X and XII which I decided I wanted to get copies of after having sold my own years ago.

Tales of the Abyss, a very belated Christmas gift, is also on its way and should be delivered before the end of the week.

Some people might even be tempted to call this a birthday present. Just do us a flavor? Don't start calling it your Precious, and don't kill people who wants it.

Only 1 for me this month but it's a bit of a freebie that I downloaded from el-hazardonline.net (http://www.el-hazardonline.net/El-Hazard/index.shtml) :

El-Hazard: The Magnificent World for the PC (Originally for the NEC PC-9821 & Sega Saturn)

I've only played about 40 minutes of it so far & it's not bad. It plays about the same as the Ai Yori Aoshi game, though.

Edit: Add a couple of Japanese Xbox Live Points cards (the Idolm@ster ones) to this.

LOL, he hasn't even ordered the birthday gifts yet. I guess I'll get those in June. :P And no worries, I only called it Precious when Amazon managed to get a few copies in stock and he actually got the order in before the last two sold out again

Purchased today. Don't know when I'll crack it open though, given the NCAA games this weekend, but I'll be alone all of April so I'm stocking up on shit to do. (Pssssh, like I'd do yard work and landscaping, I got games to play!!)

I went on a used game hunt today and walked away with Dark Cloud 1 & 2, Unlimited Saga, and Tsugunai: Atonement. I know jack shit about the last game except that it was made by Atlus.

Edit: I've since discovered that I bought a workout for my PS2. My PS2 starts huffing and puffing but nothing actually loads.

Think i've finished for the month

And what a month. Xbox 360 in for repair, getting a replacement PS3 because its disc drive went (same for the 360 funnily enough. Shows how each company fix things eh? One repairs one replaces).... but anyway.

UK as usual.

Physical Purchases -
Unreal Tournament 3 (PS3)
Unreal II (Xbox)
Untold Legends: Dark Kingdoms (PS3)
Slimline PS2 (hardware)
Odin Sphere (PS2)
Singstar with mics/adaptor (PS3)
The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion (Xbox 360)
Midway Arcade Treasures 3 (PS2)
Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga (PS2)
EyeToy: Play 3 + EyeToy USB camera (PS2)
Final Fantasy XII (PS2)

SEGA Superstars Tennis (Xbox 360)

Downloads -
PSN -
Warhawk

Wii VC -
Uridium (C64)
International Karate (C64)

And out of nowhere its the PS2 getting most purchases this month, with the Ps3 close behind. Weird.

Is it one of the older black models? If so, mine did the same...had to buy a new one. There are instructions online to potentially fix, if its a laser issue (it starts, just stays on the load screen). I personally wasn't willing to make the effort, so got a new one (okay, made my bro buy me one for Christmas). New ones are $129, so if its old, might as well just get a new one. :)

All right, I'm done. Pretty good month, particularly because of the last item on the list:

Nintendo DS
The New York Times Crosswords
Nintendo Wii
Geometry Wars Galaxies
Super Smash Bros Brawl
Super Swing Golf Season 2
Sony PSP
Final Fantasy VII Crisis Core

The only thing bad about FF7CC isn't its own fault. It's that the PSP is such a battery killer. I'm not 10 hours into the game and I've already had to recharge it twice.

Most of my time spent playing the PSP is on my couch while my wife watches TV I'm not really interested in, so I just have it plugged into the charger while I play.

It's just that game. I was worried it was my PS2 so I tried another game, but Suikoden III started up just fine.

But my PS2 does make a good amount of noise and I wouldn't be surprised if it conks out on me one of these days.

March was a surprising month. As I now have access to a Wii, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Sonic and Mario at the Olympics, and Super Mario Galaxy. I also ended up getting a DS as hand me down along with Children of Mana. Yeah definitely surprising.

Since I, at long last, finally got a DSL I went ahead and got the ball rolling on a few games this month despite being far from sure as to what else I would like on the system:

Tao's Adventure
Shiren the Wanderer
Izuna 1
Clubhouse Games (my tool for surviving work sane)

Will pick up Pokemon Mysterious Dungeon Blue for hopefully cheapish around when Darkness/Time come out and are probably bought immediately. All else DS wise, save hoping the other 3ish Roguelikes in Japan get brought over...is unknown.

Otherwise this month, yesterday/today, consister of ordering/getting Ghost Squad, HoTD 2+3, RE:UC, DQS, Alien Syndrome, Wii Play w/ Wiimote, a nunchuck, the Datel LAN adapter to use with my Cable internet connection, a Nyko charger station, Samurai Warriors Katana, and failed attempts to order Brawl, Crossbow Training w/ Zapper, and failed pre-order attempts with Baroque and Blast Works since Amazon.com and a random seller are pulling their annoying(random) crap with "oops, can't ship to a PO BOX for no apparent reason again! Please list your physical address where this package will never reach you."

All in all, my first month of buying games since I completed the saga folk here bore witness to in my PS2 and GCN game hunts. Now all I still need, aside from tracking down the above troubled ones at a Best Buy or something, is to actually find a Wii so I can play these games, use that Adapter, and so on. :susel:

Picked up an onyx DS Lite and a copy of Zelda:Phantom Hourglass. I also found a used copy of Etrian Odysessy which I'm really enjoying. I like it because you can't just blast through it without ending up as goo stuck to the bottom of some monster's foot. :D

God Of War Chains Of Olympus - PSP

PS2:
Okami - actually I got this for free, otherwise I was waiting for the Wii version.

PS3:
Ratchet & Clank Future - I liked the download demo, so this is my first PS3 game. Having fun with it.

PSP:
Patapon - Addicting, surprised at the difficulty of some parts, and their darn marching tunes get stuck in my head.

Wii:
Guitar Hero 3
Lego Star Wars Complete Saga
Super Smash Bros. Brawl

I don't think I bought much this month. Ryu ga Gotoku KENZAN!, MLB 08: The Show, Time Hollow, and I received a copy of Neves. The first month ever (apart from the first month it was out) that I've bought more games for PS3 than any other platform.

edit: ah, yes, the SEGADirect DX pack of the Phantasy Star Collection, too, but that's in an order with something else so it won't be shipping for a little bit.
