Recent Del Rey cover edits

Is it just a recent thing that Del Rey edit their covers?

It just seems to me that in recent months, Negima and Air Gear covers have been edited, and for all the years Del Rey have been going it just seems kind of a recent fad.

It's great that they're putting the unedited covers in the book, and it may just be a coincidence that there are really 'bad' covers on these volumes that have had cover art changed, but either way I hope it's not going to become something they do regularly.

This has been hashed out in the various topic threads with Dallas chiming in. It's a case-by-case basis and not an editorial shift.

Remember we are talking about Oh!Great and Ken Akamatsu. I believe it would not be amiss for me to state that these mangaka are physically and psychologically incapable of putting out a title that does not at the very least contain a modicum of fanservice. And considering how they draw, who'd want them to? Of course I can only speak for myself.
