With the 22nd pick of the Spring 2008 VA Draft, Bermanism selects CHRIS PATTON, voice actor, Houston. Formerly of Fort Worth.
Next up it's Martial, Martial, Martial (Stax that is). Martialstax is now on the clock.
With the run on female VA's that left me with the opportunity to snap up my highest rated male VA who can do it all. With Michelle Ruff and Chris Patton on board, I have a powerful 1-2 punch in my lineup.

I'm saddened she went after the first round. Also guilty I passed on her, but I was trying something different. However, as usual: +10 points to martialstax.

I too am sad I had to pass her, but I had a specific strategy for Round 1, and she just didn't fit into it

I pick another fantastic director/actor, and another big name with a very large vocal range.

After seeing a run on female VA's, I am expecting a run of male VA's in this round. I was debating between whether I would take Patton or Mignogna with my second round pick. Mignogna is an awesome pick, Spirit.
The Alaskan Assassin

I pick Chris Sabat.
An Ayame Sohma avatar please.
The more questionable the better ;)

I really wanted him, unfortunately my draft position has lost me some good VA's. I needed his range.

Had a tougher time deciding this time, as both of my inital picks (after Kari) for Round 1 were still available. Kira was one of those last minute, "Hey, what about so-and-so!" decisions. Since the majority seem to be drafting males so far this round, I figured I should snap up this acting and directing pro before I missed out of taking him, like I did during the last mystery draft (as I'm sure SotS remembers :shifty: ;) ).

Awesome choice. I was planning on taking Liam with my second round pick at the beginning, but with Patton and Mignogna both being available at my pick, I just could not resist. Another cast list with a very nice 1-2 punch with KVD and Liam calling the shots.

FINALLY!
I managed to catch up with you guys, I think I had to go back about five times to re-edit the board since someone else had picked. What a nice round of picks we've just had..
The Big Board (http://www.fudce.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/draft7/) has been updated through pick 2.9, and I've also added some stats down the bottom.

Here comes my analysis: I can safely say Fudce has done his homework not an error in sight. Of course Vic has done two roles in New York but the majority of his recording was done in those three areas.

Bingo. When an actor has done roles in more than three regions, the top three are chosen. The rest, ignored.

For my first male VA pick for this draft, taking a risk and drafting from the Fort Worth crew Mr. Todd Haberkorn (a.k.a. perverted friend, Asahina ticks me off, "part-timer!", and hangs out with a "Hell Girl")
Itsuki, Yamato, Watanuki, or Ichimokuren are fine for the avatar. I want to see what you come up with Fudce :D
And I believe this is Todd's first time being drafted. let's hope I made a good pick with this.

Yes, this is what I think can trump Taliesin, Though I admire Taliesin's skill as a director, in fact it's almost unparalleled. he tends to have much smaller voice roles. Christopher Bevins, his partner in Crime on the Beck Dub, and also considered to be one of the strongest dub directors for Funimation (Witchblade, SpeedGrapher and Samurai 7 of all things he's done) has recently broken through the barrier as an actor and was brought into voice the lead role of Apollo in Aquarion fairly recently. So it's only fitting Mr. Bevins have an avatar of that character. Just search Apollo Aquarion on Yahoo if you can't find the avatar. I would say considering how strong Mr. Bevins performance was in Aquarion he is a true double threat.

This is a nice pick for the head coach of the team. Well, with the way things are going, we are now seeing a run of potential ADR directors (and a run of Fort Worth male VA's) being picked. I was certainly right when I figured that with this new twist, some VA's are going to see their stock go way up. Seeing all these directors being selected makes me want to adjust my strategy for round 3 (but right now, I will see how things shape up first). So based on the first two picks of everybody's drafts I see several different interesting strategies going on and seeing them is part of the fun.

If I didn't know the anime being cast and was just playing along from the peanut gallery, I think ancar's team would be my fave... if only due to the mindblowing concept of Liam directing Kira in anything.
However, knowing the title in question... I'm eyeing a number of tantalizing tandems, although at the end of the day it will all boil down to how well all of the characters are cast.
And I love the dynamic the director "wild card" has already thrown into the mix. Keep it up guys!

What really convinced me to take him is because he is a strong actor and a strong director. I'm thankful that he was cast in the lead role in Aquarion because no one could have played that role but him.

Sorry, sorry. Out listening to my sports teams win. So I'll now in good humor (seeing that they did, in fact, win) make my next (trumping?) selection.
This one I was actually considering since my last pick, so it doesn't really count as a FBSMP Pick. Though considering I had no one else in mind as back up, it sort of does.
I did have him last draft as well, which also isn't exactly in keeping with trying new things this time. But then I had him last Fall as only an actor...hm?
And for bookend commentary: How does Bevins trump Jaffe? I mean they're kind of equal as far as rep goes, at the least. Unless it's in the picker's mind...I dunno'. Well, doesn't matter. The Sinterniklass trumps all! ... No, no, wait. Wrong emoticon:
:noodle:
And I had a clever text written up to introduce Narob, but it was a silly thing. So, without further ado...

In terms of Directing abilities Jaffe and Bevins are pretty much on the same plain. But Jaffe to my knowledge hasn't had a lead role in a show since DeaRS, I think. I haven't seen the dub, so I'm not going to Comment on it, but the show itself is a little wishy-washy.
And BTW, Michael Sinterniklaas was another guy I had my eye on as well.

Yea, I'm not blown away - EB rocked the draft by picking a big-name director while everyone else was going for actors. Responding to that by...picking a big-name director isn't much of a "trump." He's a great director, don't get me wrong, but with all the talk I was expecting something - I don't know, unexpected?
And Taliesin can act, or have we forgotten Hellsing Ultimate so quickly? I seem to remember somebody raving about a certain performance...

So I wonder. Did EB's pick of Jaffe sparked a run on directors? What I mean is that did guys start to take VA's capable of being an ADR director as a result of EB's pick when they were originally planning to pick someone else or did these people who selected the directors had planned to draft one here well before EB's pick?

I've always had a director (rather, several) in mind since Brad said we'd draft one. Of course, the one I use will be dependent upon who takes who. I may opt for someone off the beaten track :P
[Or this could just be a devious strategy on my part to make people use their 2nd and 3rd round picks to take directors, while I poach a few excellent actors who have not been taken yet :> ]

Lelouch Lamperouge (or whatever his original forum name was) is now on the clock ;)

Also of note for drafters, under this new forum software, in otder to set your post header, you need to "post reply" not quickreply.
Also if your name needs changing, bug Chris about it and I'm sure he'll get around to things.
I have the order for round 3 in my hand, but until these forums OFFICIALLY open, I wont start round 3.

Nice pick. This was the guy I thought that Geoduck would take based on what he said about his next pick. Earthquake in Uzbekistan could mean rocking and rolling like his work in BECK, the three-headed kitten could mean that he is the third of the ADR directors in the directorial staff for BECK, and Stax's hair turning pink would then mean that McFarland voices cross-dressers and feminine guys.

Well even with the chaos we had today, we still managed to finish the round. Now if only I could fix my Username.

Send a PM to Chris, or make a post in the feedback forum about it. You're not them only one who's had this problem.
(I'm going to be noting down on the next rounds post the real and 'original' forum names for draftees)

Evidently, I'll be under this forum name. My very first, I might add. I've put it my signature that I'm Lelouch Lamperouge so there won't be any confusion.

Ah, but you disregarded one crucial piece of data: The atomic number of Vanadium is 23.
