Sweet, Shokotan! I'm there. I've been waiting for a US con to bring her over for a couple years, so that makes it an easy decision to attend AX. Now to arrange it all.

Never having been to LA, what kind of public transportation is available? I'm hoping to get away without renting a car since I'd only be going a few places other than the con over the week. Is there a good way to get to the two Book-Offs nearby or Little Tokyo without a car?
