H2O seems intriguing, is vol.1 worth buying for the extras disc, if anyone has it already?

If you have it, will you be getting vol.2 LE or regular?

I have it. The outerbox is typical Kadokawa cardboard, but the printing is nice. The DVD case has a nice, slightly-NSWF image of Hayami in an oversized, white t-shirt with her shoulders exposed. The case itself is white, and the cover is not double-sided. Inside is, of course, the DVD and the special DVD. On the special DVD, it has the complete storyboards for the first two episodes and the character designs as well. Also, it has several screensavers and a Hayami-chan Windows theme set, which I am currently using at the moment (I switched from ef/Clannad). The mouse pointer icon has a very cute image of Hayami-chan spinning a pinwheel.

And yes. I plan on getting the second LE as well. Although my Japanese is too poor to read the comments, I found looking through the storyboards enlightening. How they get from a rough drawing to the final product amazes me.

Thanks for your detailed reply :) I'll get the vol.1 LE I think. If its ever R1 licensed, I'm sure the extras won't all be included.

My copy of the second volume came today. This time, the DVD that came with it included a Hinata desktop theme set, a really fun Hinata candy-catching game, the character designs for Hinata and the designs for her house, and the storyboards for the next two episodes. The regular cover is of Hamaji in a sukumizu while Hinata is on the LE cover. Personally, I'm loving the animated cursors that came with it. <3

Oh, there are also four videos on the special disc too, with various extras. Including commercials in English for the DVDs. It's clearly done by a native speaker of English, and I can't say it's bad narration. Well, the lines are cheesy as hell, but perfectly grammatical. I still hate anime in English though (regardless of who makes it). Let's see... There is also an interview with the seiyuu. Lastly, it has the Hinata opening (the opening slightly changed throughout the show, with a different girl in the logo).

Do you happen to know if the animation was retouched for the DVDs? H2O had some pretty bad off model moments.

Well at least according to reports/info on the recently held H2O Night event (http://anime.webnt.jp/blog/h2o_update/2008/04/post_75.html) episode 5 and 6 of the anime have been "upgraded" and they were showing a DVD version of both episodes with "improved quality". Of course no comparisson blogs/site available yet (with these episodes slated to be released with upcoming 3rd Volume of the DVD release laterwards this month).
