Anime Character Infatuations

Have you ever had a slight (or heavy) infatuation with characters in anime, or at least, have found traits of a character of the opposite gender that you find really attractive?

In the latter category, I've always found Hikari from Haibane Renmei to have a very attractive personality. While she doesn't quite get a lot air time in the series, Hikari really does make her kind-hearted presence stand out whenever she is on screen. The dub voice also seems to emphasize that quite well.

And more towards the fan fascination and infatuation side of things, Yomi Mizuhara was a character that totally won me over when i first watched Azumanga Daioh. Not because she's another cute glasses-wearing girl (although she does look cute wearing them), her feistiness and her seeminigly overblown worries about her weight made her endearing in a way.

I'm absolutely infatuated with Mikuru from Haruhi. I love how cute she is. She's so polite, too. I like her so much that I bought an expensive Mikuru doll :bowsmiley:

I've also been infatuated with Chi from Chobits. She's so cute and innocent. I want to hug her! :beatingheart:

Oh well, I lied. I am utterly devoted and infatuated with the goddess Ayumu Nishizawa. She is just too perfect. She is beautiful, she never gives up, and always tries her best. She's honest, and has a wonderful personality. And a healthy appetite is definitly a bonus.

Myself, I have a pillow of Karen Onodera from Onegai Twins. I've got at least four figurines of Rin Tohsaka from Fate/stay night. I named my currently-under-construction guitar after Chihaya Kisaragi from The Idolm@ster.

Depends what I'm watching at the moment. One major example, thanks to a moment of absolutely brilliance in episode three, is Chiko from Daughter of Twenty Faces. Then there's of course Lelouche, Kallen, CC and Nunnaly from Code Geass.

Anyway, while there are characters I'll always love forever, the bursts of intensity one way or another vary according to what's airing.

Attractive characters? Certainly. Though it's never really risen to the level of infatuation.

Now, if there were real versions of some of these girls, yeah, I'd be infatuated.

Who?

Alicia Florence for one. Hinagiku Katsura for another. There are others, but as something mentioned, they can ebb and flow over time, depending on what shows I'm currently watching.

There are 3 for me.

#1) Madoka Ayukawa of Kimagure Orange Road (& by extension, characters voiced by her VA, Hiromi Tsuru). Madoka's voice, character design, personality, talent, loyalty, tough & tenderness & future promise are intoxicating.

#2) Misato Katsuragi of Neon Genesis Evangelion (& by extension, characters voiced by her VA, Kotono Mitsuishi). High maintenance, very sexy, needs love. I could take all that. Misato is really just a girl-next-door with unfinished business to settle first. :)

#3) Revy of Black Lagoon (totally overwhelming). Beautiful, deadly, sexy as hell. Uma Thurman in Kill Bill is her live action equivalent IMO.

I've been fond of/attached to many characters, but I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say I've been infatuated with any.

Emma - Victorian Romance Emma - Instant liking again, strong willed character

Well I have a couple photobuckets dedicated to characters I've considered "claimed" by me because of infatuation

Alkaid from .hack//GU
Teana Lanster from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS

and my main course of them all would have to be Nao Yuuki from My~HiME and Juliet Nao Zhang from My~Otome, my photobucket for both them is the largest out of all my other ones and I like them the most as far as me liking characters goes. (as if you couldn't tell from my avatar and sig)

I know, mine is old school, but I have an obsession with Lum from Urusei Yatsura. I have about 6 framed posters, 30 or so figures and a bunch of other memorabilia. I even have an Urusei Yatsura wallet. I think my wife is worried.

Then again, she has an obsession with the characters from Kaleido Star, so I think we're even.
