I don't like the outfit or that particular shade of blue in the background, but it's not as if I've been into any of the previous covers for this [thoroughly awesome] show either. :P

This is definitely true. I'm not sure if it will really help with the sales since the cover arts don't reflect what the series is about.

These covers are doing nothing to get me to buy the series itself. If there's an art book available, however, even if it's import-only, I'd be inclined to bite...

With that out of the way, I find it hard to believe that a big white rectangle that floats on top of the rest of the artwork is the best design solution ADV could come up with for the left side of the original R2J DVD image (http://www.cdjapan.co.jp/pictures/l/12/22/KABA-2104.jpg) cutting off where it does (in the middle of her right hand).
Balance-wise, the R1 cover works overall; the R2J cover is a little awkward, but using the same character-art-all-on-the-left layout with the huge R1 logo down the right side would be much worse. But that rectangle... they could've at least tried to make it look like it belongs there.

Excellent art as usual for this series. I haven't been collecting the singles so I hope they put these on whatever collected set they release later on (hopefully thinpack!). I just watched the trailer for this show and it looks awesome to me.

It's not just you... it's because of the square design placed there. She really does seem like she's sitting on one when you start thinking about it.

Yeah, that's looks pretty bad. I'd hope that it's not the final image. They would have been better off putting one of the blue guys over the end of her hand to hide that.
Or how hard would it be to draw in the fingertips?

Dude have you taken a closer look at all those little guys. They have mushroom heads. Looks like she about to do some reverse blumpkin action.

That's why I've always been confused by the reaction to the covers. A large chunk of the series is about two horny losers making a porn game. This isn't Sesame Street =P So the covers never really struck me as especially racy ::shrugs::

Good point, though people can also get the wrong idea and mistake NHK for a H-title if they go by the cover art alone. Anyway, it's not that big a deal.

I got this in the mail today...and I have to say....the white box to the left....looks really out of place, and chopping off the hand seems wrong as well. Don't get me wrong I like the art work, but I seriously question why the second white box to the left is there. It looks like a rectangle was left out of the coloring....because the white steps she's sitting on have a tint and color to it....I think it looks stupid like that...I feel ADV screwed up on this personally.... Thankfully the Volume 6 cover art is better and will be handled by Funi now....

I was holding off until I had all the volumes this felt like a show, that, after two volumes I needed to have them all to the most out of....:sweat: I see how that turned out... I'm going to look at Volume 6 cover art again....
