Favorite Teachers?

Teachers are a popular character type in anime. Do you go for the unconventional antics of Great Teacher Onizuka? Does the libidinous Miss Shikijou of Mahoromatic work for you (but she'll only work for you if you're a cute, innocent boy)? What about the bountiful charms of the occassionally ditzy Mizuho Kazami of Please Teacher? Or do you like the handsome Yoshiyuki Terada of Cardcaptor Sakura? Then there's the insane genius Becky Miyamoto of Paniponi Dash. What teacher flips your switch?

I think I'd rather go for the buxom and sultry, but more intelligent, charms of Nadeshiko Benibara of SHUFFLE! Mizuho is nice, but she is, as you note, a ditz.

Other than that I like Nyamo from Azumanga Daioh, Tiga from F/SN and Mizuho from Please! Teacher as each have appealing characteristics

Special mention for Kumiko in Gokusen, who is simply awesome, & #3 :)

Becky of Pani Poni Dash is awesome and uh I'll just use cute. Darn those eye catches... Midori of My-HiME, I have high respect for because of spoiler reasons. Mika of Doki Doki School Hours isn't the greatest, but she has a few moments. Yukari and Nyamo make an interesting pair in Azumanga Daioh. That should for now. I think I'm over looking a few.

I am going to go with the teacher from i me strawberry eggs. he has more dedication to his students then any other teacher imo. having to crossdress in order to get the job and keep plus he did not look to bad as a woman either. also me Osein from Urusei Yatsura having to deal with Lum and Ataru and the gang and not going insane that is incredible.

FALSE!!!! Kimura was AWESOME!!!! In fact, he was the one character I would ever wanted to do the voice of in any anime I have ever seen. I think its because I feel this kindred relationship with him. Kimura UNDERSTANDS. Third greatest teacher EVER in anime.

My favorite teacher is probably Yukiji Katsura, the teacher of Nagi, Hayate, Izumi, Risa, and Miki in Hayate the Combat Butler. She's not my favorite character in the series, but she knows her students, is a fantastic teacher, and a fun character!

Of those not mentioned which I would have chosen in a heartbeat (Becky, Yukiji, Yukari) I'll go with the sexy sultry vixen that is Itoko Kasukabe from School Rumble - hot, tough and the ultimate villianess for one poor Kenji Harima.

And surprised no-one has mentioned Negi Springfield yet - he's adorable, strong, honest and sweet...and he gets to teach 31 cute girls. Lucky bastard...

On the obscure side, I must mention Rascal from Akazukin Chacha - At first he's the most vicious teacher you can imagine...and then you realise it's all an act and the humour and love for his students is fantastic.

I've read the first volume, and it seems that way. We weren't shown that much of the alternate Evaverse in the TV series, so it's hard to tell whether this manga is that Evaverse exactly or just an interpretation. From what I remember, the roles/personalities are the same (Misato being the teacher, Shinji and Asuka as childhood friends, Gendou and Yui happily married, etc.). The art style is quite different though (reminds me a bit of doujin art), as it's not illustrated by Sadamoto.
