I really like this cover except... Hey ADV, why a red one for this one and the first series????

So, when you own FUNimation's blue cover "TSR" it'll look awful.

Whats up with the box change? I think Fumoffu's 1st collection box is much better looking

Oh great, now you've got me imagining a bitter ADV trying to spitefully screw up the collections of any late adopters of the franchse with box colors that don't match up completely.

It's so red.

ADV really love their single color thinpak releases, don't they

Its from the same marketing department that brought you the wonderfully designed box and covers of Utawarerumono :catgirl:

LOL and no joke! ADV is really all over the place with there artwork on shows. While many of the new thinpak releases are getting better art than their original thinpak/first time release, some are getting questionable art like Princess Tutu and FMP/Fumoffu. On the other hand much of Funi's Viridian rereleases seem to be getting as good or better art which does leave the impression that ADV has some issues with their art department at times  .

Then again, I do wonder if this red cover art re-release is some sort of stab at Funi going blue with both of it's releases of FMP. If I were Kadakowa I'm not sure I'd be too happy with these covers - then again, you just can't rule out that ADV's art department is on a red kick this year, since last year was green and yellow ;) .

Quoted for truth. Sabotage for Funi getting TSR, I'm sure

I think the red color choice is evident in part... it goes along with their current theme of their rereleases of trying to make the boxes really stand out on store shelves. The FMP Season 1 set and Noir re-releases are especially indicative of that.

As much as I love the low key look of the older sets, they really did not stand out too much. These new re-releases should do better, at least in the eye-catching department.

My personal issue isn't so much on the color, but Tessa just there holding a big gun, eh, could have been better. At the end of the day though, cover/box designs play a very limited role in my purchases, but I suppose I would be in the minority in this case.

If any series will make me double dip though it's Full Metal Panic, and especially Fumoffu. But first things first, must get the other ADV re-releases that I don't have, then I'll likely double dip on this. :)

I have to agree it's Red.... It looks so much better IMO in the blue sets that they have been releasing earlier maybe their was a discount in red color ink. But it does help out in letting you know the difference between the release versions.

I have the old set, which I love.

This new one is to red, not my thing.

If this will just contain the same discs as the last set I will probably get that but if they decide to include the original ones w/ extras then I will probably get this bright red nightmare.

Gosh! It seems like instead of blue, now the theme color of the show is red! Ahhh, I'm so glad I have the original releases.

Red? Maybe someone cut themselves while working on the box design and it was an unremoveable bloodstain and ADV decided to just slap a picture of Tessa on there and roll with it. :P

More than likely, it's just to differentiate itself from the previous releases. Other media companies do this all the time, even larger DVD producers.

And I've been seriuosly considering getting the first FMP box, just because it's much better looking than the original ADV did. It also seems a bit sturdier. Also, red is my favorite color, so I'm fine with the change...

Though I think the art work on the original Fomoffu release suited the series better. But I can understand changing it to red to match FMP.

And it certainly does STAND OUT on a shelf!!! It sets next to the TSR box in Best Buy, and you don't even notice the newer series. So, I suppose it could be a jab at Funi, especially with it following the box set of TSR so closely. But I still like the new color scheme, so I'm all for it.

I dunno if the change is down to sour grapes on ADV's part, since the first Fumoffu set came out 'round the time the TSR singles did. And they were both blue. Funi's was a metallic blue, mind - but they were still of a similar hue. So I doubt the changed the colour for a the sake of a few digs. :)
But yeah, the new ones do stand out alright. Nice looking an' all, but I'll stick with my old sets.

Ditto. If this rerelease has the original discs rather than extra-less ones, then this'll be the one I'll get.

Yeah it has to be said, red doesn't work with FMP. Turning Chidori's hair red is a bad idea.

Actually, that image is the only thing I like about it. Well, that and the Kaname pic on the spine.

It is like the only color left with all of their rereleasing of this particular franchise :P.

That's what we've been thinking since we've all thought of the color of the show being dark shades of blue  . Now with the new rereleases, you have to go with red and hope somehow that it doesn't clash too much with the 2nd raid collection from Funi which is in blue.

Yeah, I mispelled one word and then snickered at the replies :). I maybe a lightweight, but until I say so, no one can figure that out :P. I still think that the red is not FMPs color. I think I'm just too used to the blue.
