I know there are folks out there besides myself who check Gainax's homepage each week to see which new piece of art has gone up on the front page.
Do any of you have the large-size versions of the images from 05/30/08 and 06/06/08 (last week and the week before)? Due to various reasons, I'd missed saving copies of those, and they seem to be gone from the site. In the past, Gainax used to leave past large images up for a while as being directly accessible via the proper URL, but they don't seem to be doing it any more, since I've tried a few obvious URL attempts and can't get anything (unless I'm just dumb).
Thanks, all!
Yea, they stop leaving them up about a month ago. Can you give me the numbers of the pictures that you are missing? The current one is 332. You can also search the web for the file name of the big versions and you know you got the big version because the largest dimension of the jpg is 800 pixies.

It looks like they're still being actively posted on danbooru, so I can easily see about grabbing the ones you're missing, assuming there aren't gaps there. Which numbers?
Edit: in the meantime, here's 5/30 (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/anon09876/367dcbafd13806e6efeabb538ee73165.jpg) and 6/06 (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/anon09876/dffa3759c6f0e11cba979fea22ca2489.jpg). I don't know if there are larger versions you're looking for though, or if there were more posted between those two dates.

Ah, I posted 331 and 332 above, here's 330 / 5/23 (http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t299/anon09876/e545bc6a3d82f8ed9ea5784b8bda5aad.jpg).
Sounds like you're looking for larger sized ones though? Or was I reading wrong?

Nope, those were the sizes I meant (i.e., the size they are when they're up on the main page for the week). They don't ever get any bigger than that, do they?
Thanks much for posting!

Not that I've ever seen.
Since we're on the topic, can anyone get 322-323 and 327-329? :)
Edit: Found em' on danbooru! :)

Unless I'm mistaken, doesn't GAiNAX release software CDs with hi-res, wallpaper-sized versions of all their "top-page" images?

I do believe so. A search for "gainaxtop width:1000.." on danboo brings up a few results (14), mostly some 1280x9__ ones and a 2500x1701 TTGL one, though the latter sort of looks to me like it was just blown up in size a bit ::shrugs::

Yes there exists a CD-ROM series by GAINAX compilling the weekly top page illustrations/images - it's titled GAM GAINAX NET Art Museum and GAINAX started it by bringing out the first back for Comiket63 in 2002. Up to now four such collections came out through GAINAX (priced 2,100 Yen incl. tax each) - all four went out of print and apparently were not re-issued by them... >_< Each CD-ROM contains the images in 3 sizes: S (800 pixel), M (1024 pixel) and L (1280 pixel)
GAM - top page art from 2002/02 to 2002/11
GAM2 - top page art from 2002/12 to 2003/11
GAM3 - top page art from 2003/12 to 2004/11
GAM4 - top page art from 2004/12 - 2005/12

Just remembered asking for this while getting the new one. Thanks for the help.

I try to save the weekly Gainax site image every Friday, but noticed at the end of last week that the style of the filename had changed, and that they seem to be doing a promotion where they count down with a different image each day to the premiere of the new Gurren Lagann movie. I took care to save the new image on Saturday... and then completely forgot about it on Sunday. Did anyone manage to save it then? I believe the filename should be something like "glm_003.jpg"... Any help would, of course, be greatly appreciated.

That's it! Thank you very much.
(And now, I must admit, it's interesting in somewhat more than just a "completing the collection" sort of way...)
