This is mostly likely not that finalized cover art. It may be some variation to this current cover. If the main image remains, this is a solid cover.

EDIT: I wonder if this is just a single volume series?

I'm guessing if MB's licensed the 2nd series [which was an OVA, but the same length], that would be Vol.2. Each series is 8 episodes at 13 minutes each, so both would fit on a single dvd pretty easily.

I'm curious if this'll have a dub since it's at MB's dub price....

It could be in a cardboard sleeve and I'd buy it, but something pulled together from the composition on the sample image certainly works for me.

8 episodes at 13 minutes each, or the equivalent of 4 full length episodes. I'm thinking MB might be doing here what they did with Futari H/Step Up Love Story, which was split it out at 2 episodes per volume. That would mean that for Dokuro-chan, we would get 4 mini-episodes on this volume, and 4 on volume 2...

Cover art is probably not finalized...

That's the novel cover, so I imagine the final result will have nothing to do with it.

That is what something mentioned from the solicitation thread. The final cover art could very well not have anything to with this image.

That art is also almost certainly not final, and is simply the cover of the first book (http://www.amazon.co.jp/%E6%92%B2%E6%AE%BA%E5%A4%A9%E4%BD%BF%E3%83%89%E3%8 2%AF%E3%83%AD%E3%81%A1%E3%82%83%E3%82%93-1-%E9%9B%BB%E6%92%83%E3%82%B3%E3%83%9F%E3%83%83%E3%8 2%AF%E3%82%B9-%E3%81%8A%E3%81%8B%E3%82%86-%E3%81%BE%E3%81%95%E3%81%8D/dp/4840230161/ref=pd_sim_b_img_11).

Well this is listed at 180 mins. so i guess we can safely assume that all of it is on this release. But 3 hours packed on 1 dvd? Isn't that a bit much, i mean they could have made it a 2 disc set ala Tweeny Witches...

Since they brought this image for the solicitation, again we can probably assume that the final cover will just be a rework of this one...

At any rate, i'll be picking this one up for sure!

No dub? No worries. I'll be grabbing this one regardless. I'm glad to see both seasons are on the disc as well.

And 'Bludgeoning Angel' is a much nicer title, I think. Certainly less of a mouthful than 'Club to death Angel'. :)

Oh don't get me wrong. I'm very happy for those who wanted this (and I know that there are quite a few people who are very happy) but for me this would have been a blind buy. Only on very rare occasions will I blind buy sub only. (only for one series so far, and that's only due to high recomendations from trusted fans)

The image selected for the cover seems appropriate, but I wish media blasters would STOP devising such stupid looking English logos. At least make an effort to closing match the font/text styling of the original Japanese logo, or even just keep the Japanese logo with an English translation underneath.

On an unrelated note, Volume 1? Didn't they confirm it was the entire OVA on the single volume? Will there, or will there not be a Volume 2? and how much of the OVA is on the first volume??

While I would not be adverse to buying this in a two volume format. It would be nice to know if this is going to be one volume or two.

I like the second image for the cover art.

I'll trust Media Blasters to do it right. They did an excellent job on AMG TV and even without a dub I was very happy when they released the second season of Space Pirate Mito.

"Volume 1" propably means that they're gonna release the two series separately... Which sucks, as the second series only has 4 ten-minute-episodes... Whatever, I'm still gonna buy the show when it comes out.
Also, I watched this show like, 3 days before the license-announcement. I just found that a bit ironic, as it basically went like this:
*Watches show* Ah, that was funny, I hope someone licenses it so I can get it on DVD.
*Three days later* "Media Blasters licenses Dokuro-chan..." Well, I'll be damned.

Since there are 8 episodes that's about 13 minutes each in the first season thats only about 100 minutes and since the second series only have 4 episode that's 50 minutes there which makes it 150 minutes in total. Makes me wonder if the solicitation is wrong or if there is some kind of special or extendet episodes that I haven't heard of.

I think that the solicitation is most likely wrong then, since it's been known to happen. I don't think John is going to answer our questions though... since he's pretty random about things.

And another god-awful font/color change (in my opinion). I don't know what it is about Media Blasters but they seem to ruin just about every cover between the pending and final cover. For me anyway. I think I'll pass on this one now; I was only just barely interested in buying it beforehand, given I will never watch it due to the excessive gore factor.

Yeah, this cover looks pretty good. Also, the fact that there is no longer a "1" anywhere on the cover propably means that they're releasing it all on one volume, which seems fine with me. The entire series is just barely longer than 6 regular anime-episodes anyway. In any case, I am so totally getting this DVD, as the show nearly killed me too, from laughing so hard that I couldn't breathe. Or, at least the first series did, the second one wasn't quite as good.

VERY nice. This was bought the second I heard about it, dub or no dub (even though I'm a dub fan). This is one of my favorite shows, and thought I'd never see it come to R1 land. I am very upset there is no dub(it could have been a really funny dub, I would have enjoyed this show twice as much), but I HAVE to own this. And what's with the wierd logo?

This is going to be my first, and last sub only DVD. If the anime is not dubbed or named "dokuro chan" , then I'm not buying it.

Vegard Aune

Wierd? It looks almost exactly like the japanese one, except the obvious fact that one is written in japanese, and the other in english. Proof: http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/Zeldamaniac/Dokuro-chansjapaneselogonstuff.png

Anyway, I'm glad this DVD comes with both series. That way, I won't have to wait for another DVD to come out with the second series, which was only like, 50 minutes long anyway...

^Hmm I remembered the original logo looking a lot different? Maybe I'm going crazy. Guess that's not weird. I'm probally confuseing another logo with this one . I really like the cover though. And I'm also exited they put both series here, so I get all my Dokuro-chan goodness in one bunch!!

Acually I'm liking the English Logo better. The japanese one looks a little cheap to me. The English one has more detail.

The info we've recieved is so retardedly inaccurate that I can't help but wonder if the one who wrote it was even awake at the time. The coverart says that the ONE DVD includes both series in their entirety, and really, JAPAN got the entire thing across 6 discs, and they do have a nasty habit of putting as little content as possible on their DVDs over there.

Way to go Media Blasters. Even though 6 episodes (i.e 1 episode = 2 mini episodes) on a disc would just about fit, having them on 2 discs is perfect. I just hope the maximum bitrate is being used. I can't wait to see Dokuro-chan on DVD instead of fansub.
