Hi everyone,

Just curious which R2 anime DVD set that you own came with the coolest swag may it be a regular or limited edition?

As for my favorite, I don't own too many R2 anime DVD's (as opposed to film and music related DVD's-and sometimes those come with either t-shirts or a stuff animal) but the limited edition "Amazing Nuts!" was very cool. It came with a second DVD with a 37-minute anthology, 40-minute behind-the-story interview with STUDIO4°C and this thick book with about 300+ pages of storyboard and interviews and last, it came with the music soundtrack.

But curious what other DVD's had a fantastic release with a lot of swag.

Here is a photo of the Amazing Nuts set: http://www.nt2099.com/J-ENT/DVD/amazingnuts.jpg

My review on the DVD: http://www.nt2099.com/J-ENT/REVIEWS/2007/ANIME/amazingnuts.pdf (PDF only)

I bought it as a gift for my friend, but Paradise Kiss LE stuff came with R2 dvds were pretty nice. As for the ones I own, photostand that came with picture of Tacchan and Minami by Adachi from Touch DVD Box was pretty good (though when I actually saw the real thing, it was a bit cheap looking ;p). As for the video material, I think Honey and Clover vol.1 had an interesting video of making the OP. I sold it recently, but Suzumiya Haruhi comes with secret "photo folder of Mikuru" I believe. That was witty. ^^

The most swag hmmm, well apart from the individual extras inside the box - Agito's Silver Hair (gin-iro no kami no agito) came with a tin of clover seeds! I treasure that entire release so much - comes with some postcards as well as a pretty long book, and with 3 disc O_O.

What where the extra's of paradise kiss?

I love that series, I have the R1 box set.

You can go to cdjapan to check it out. It seems like they STILL sell the LE;;; R1 only had a box right?

My first was the DTS Ah! My Goddess movie LE set with postcards & exclusive pictures.

Best is probably still the Evangelion Renewal monolith set, which had the fabulous bonus disc that had the unused live footage, storyboards for End of Evangelion & Genesis 00 extra.

Gunbuster R2J set with exclusive cards & the 4th disc was pretty cool.

Latest is the Appleseed:Ex Machina Premium (HD DVD) set, which contains the big thick storyboards paperback, 3x DVDs (R1 version, R2J & extras) + cards & stickers.

But the ones I am fondest of are my Kimagure Orange Road TV, OVA & movie 2 sets which had Madoka + Jingoro, Hikaru & the twins figures respectively. The OVAs set also has the KOR music video & a 40 minute seiyuu chat session extras.

That's so cool! I noticed a few selling for used on amazon Japan but I wonder how easily it would be to find a complete version used in Japan. Curious, did the DVD release ever include the pilot episode? As for the KOR music video, I remember watching a music video collection ala LD back in 1993 or so. A long time ago but curious if its the same one. I'd definitely would love to see watch the seiyuu chat. Was it an older interview or something taking place many years later to celebrate the release or an anniversary?

They also come up on ebay occasionally. The pilot (which was under a separate label) & movie 1 (which was not) have yet to be released on DVD. No pilot is understandable, but movie 1 being bypassed is a puzzlement.

The music LD you saw is the one included with the OVA set. The seiyuu extra is a new chat session between Toru Furya, Hiromi Tsuru & Eriko Hara filmed for the DVD release (poor Hiromi had a terrible cold & didn't say as much as the other 2). The trio also re-voice a scene from episode 46, to show they can still do it. :)

Kiddy Grade had a hardcover book of conte and backgound into with every CE volume, each volume also came with a a couple of cards and bookmarks and there was something else with each one from address books to mobile phone holsters to mini figures.
Clannad likewise is turning out very nice, each volume has a booklet with some thing different (one moth genga, another conte etc.) and there've been assorted toys like a pack of cards and the music box.

Yeah, the Clannad LE release is probably the best R2 release I have, swag-wise.

Yeah, probably my Paradise Kiss DVDs. They came with an imitation flower, a picture frame, and a cool jewelry box. Plus a bonus DVD, a booklet, and a box to hold everything for each volume. It was a nice release.

To tell you the truth, most of my R2s are pretty bare bones. Most are boxsets that just came with a box and maybe a booklet.

I hardly own any R2 series, but the coolest thing I have is the Kodomo no Jikan box that came with volume 1. The box is one of those red elementary school backpacks and you put the DVD's inside - it even came with a little smiley pin like the one Rin has in the anime. Now that's original.

I got the first Kodojika DVD for the backpack also:

Forgot to add pictures yesterday, so for Clannad:

And Kiddy Grade:

Only have bits and pieces as I never did get around to finishing scanning then (or indeed abrely started since I only did the first volume and few other bits and pieces). Now I have a digicam I should just get them all down and take some snaps, although that does mean having to hunt down all the bits and pieces and work out what volume they came with..

My best R2 would have to be "Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo" Limited Edition with First Pressing.
3 Discs, book, film, and a plushie.

There was a first pressing? O_O

CD Japan doesn't list one... Damnit. I was going to get this off Amazon Japan as well T_T

Reading the thread (http://www.animeondvd.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=82957) on that upcoming Fullmetal Alchemist collection and film on blu-ray set, do you think that will probably be the best release with the most swag? Wow!

Alas, no cool swag here. At most all I got was an extras disc.

Found my Onegai Teacher ~Reminisence~ DVD LE. It came with postcards, a notebook & a CD with 2 songs.

The Nausicaa R2 LE was cool, with a tapestry wallet & ceramic figure of Nausicaa.
