(Did Minami-ke's success spawn this?)

Moetron reports (http://www.moetron.com/2008/07/12/today-in-class-5-2-tv-series-this-fall/) that Moonphase Diary posts about a possible TV series for Coharu Sakuraba's Today in Class 5-2 (Kyou no Go no Ni). The one volume manga has already been adapted into an OVA.

Coharu Sakuraba is nowadays better known for being the author of Minami-ke.

I loved Today in Class 5-2, but I'm not sure what are they going to do for a TV series; original stories?

Well, I'm hoping for the best.

How many episodes was the OVA of Class 5-2? I remember watching some of it, but I don't think I ever finished it. Still the fact I liked Minami-ke may be enough for me to give this TV series a chance.

The OVA is four episodes long (five short stories in each). A special five minute episode was released early this year with the collectors box, but there are no subs nor raws out there (this episode is relatively average, but still fun).

The OVA is more ecchi than the manga, but it still has its charm. Altough I must say, the manga has that very, very subtle sexy feel that Minami-ke has.
