See above, I only really want to get the bit of the show directed and/or scripted by Oshii.

I took a quick glance at my Urusei Yatsura cases, and it looks like the last episode Oshii directed was 106. Since he was also the initial director for the show, that means that he directed episodes 1-106 (volumes 1-27 of the Animeigo release). He also directed the first two movies (Only You and Beautiful Dreamer), although you may already know that.

I should mention that his Urusei Yatsura episodes feel lighter than a lot of his other works (although there are flashes of his better known style scattered throughout the episodes).

I've already seen a couple of episodes and I really enjoyed them, I know it's a rom-com and not a philosophical, atmospheric work, I just reckon Oshii makes the show good, so I wanted to get hir part of it. I guess maybe I'll start with the second Rightstuf bundle, all Oshii and well into the swing of things, and then go from there... actually I'll get the first, I don't want to miss anything important.

Looking at the liner notes for the first boxset shows that Oshii directed all of the episodes in boxset 1 as chief director. He also did the storyboards for episodes 22-23, 26, and 26 in the first boxset. Also technical director for (1,3,5,8,10,14,17-18,20,SP,22,33,36).

Unfortunately you will have to look at the scrolling credits in the DVDs in the other boxsets in order to get the info as Animeigo hasn't posted that information online yet. For the most part the Oshii stuff disappears after episode 106. I suppose I could dig out the DVDs and check for you but they are all over the place. I do plan on doing a lot of cleaning and organizing tomorrow in order to make room for a planned 61" TV but no promises as things are a real mess at the moment.

Here's a complete list of directors of UY here. It's not complete in the sense that every episode is listed.

I notice that Pitter-Patter Christmas Eve which is one of my favorite episodes was done by Oshii. I also really liked the non Oshii episode with the crew being turned into foxes. I think Atsushi Matoba was the animation director for that one, directed by Junichi Sakata.

Oshii officially bowed out of the series with the two-part "Rescue Lum!" fourth season-finale on AE Vol. (27?)--
Kazuo Yamazaki opened the next season with the "Alternate universe" episode (considered possibly the quintessential Yamazaki UY episode ) immediately after.

And yeah, he did most of the crappy first-season too, but if you're asking because you "just found out" that it was the Beautiful Dreamer/GitS guy, you'll probably find most of the "artsy" stuff around Vols. 20 on up.
(Although you can see him start to loosen up the show's silliness as far back as Vol. 8 and 10...And when we start getting the Macross-style "clip-recap" filler episodes for Ran, Sakura and Mendou in the 20's, you can tell you're getting near the end of the Oshii tenure, and the producers had to fill in the void.)

As far as originally Oshii scripted, can't help there, but the "Fast Food Fighters" episode looks a little...familiar, despite Junji Suzuki directing.
