In Dead Girls(the sequel to Red Garden) , some of the surviving characters are now in a more futuristic setting and instead of the normal contemporary setting, the characters are now in a futuristic setting with mecha.
Is there any anime that you would like to see the characters in a setting that is in the future from the setting that the anime is in in a sequel(NOT an alternate universe)? I don't necessarily mean in the distant future - an anime that is for example set in medieval times or feudal Japan could suddenly be set in contemporary times. For example, I'm wondering how Tower of Druaga would be if the 2nd season ends with the 1st OP being the ending? By the way, the anime that you choose must realistically have this setting viable (example - characters go into deep sleep only to wake up 1000 years later).

I would have liked a continuation/spinoff of the final arc from Sailor Moon R, with the adult Usagi & Damien as parents of Chibi-Usa, & the world they rule.

Rurouni Kenshin, with the same characters & seiyuus, in a modern or futuristic setting would work for me.

And the destiny of Mega Road 01 following from SDF Macross & Flashback 2012 too.

I've often wanted to see more of Chrono Crusade in modern times (or even slightly into the future) since, if you listen to doomsayers, we're supposed to be in the "final days" of humanity. You know ... Revelations and all.

I wonder if they'd create an all new cast, or find a way to bring Sister Rosette and Chrono back from the dead?

Reincarnation. Next time Chrono is the nun & Rosette is the demon. But they can both be female.

I always figured the adventures of Sister Azmaria doing demon hunting during WWII would be an awesome concept.
