Hello,

Is there any sites out there that explain what is in the animes, like how much violence, bad language, sex, nudity, etc?

Something like:

http://www.kids-in-mind.com/

The closest would be Helen McCarthy's Anime Encyclopedia but that's not a website - that's a book.

And Jonathan Clements'—Amazon.com link (http://www.amazon.com/dp/1933330104/).

The Christian Anime Alliance (http://www.christiananime.net/home.php) website goes into that kind of content for their reviews. It breaks things down into violence, language, sexual content, nudity, and an age rating based on those aspects.

Um wow....can we call anime mainstream now...I am a little scared that there is such a thing as the Christian anime Alliance...I mean wasn't part of the attraction of anime for many of us originally that it was on the edge outside the mainstream if we are honest with ourselves? I guess I will stop there so as not to break the rules.

2 Websites:

www.themanime.org

Themanime has gets new updates once or twice a every couple of moths. It is actually the Arizona University anime club.

A better one for "content breakdown" is http://www.animeworld.com/

The main reviewer is very sick and has been for some time, but he is still thankfully hanging in there and he still updates sometimes. I have used this site for years.

IIRC the CAA has been around for like, 8-10 years or something. They are not mainstream.
