Negima Everybody Else Popularity Poll

A couple of weeks ago I posted a Negima Girls Popularity Poll (http://www.mania.com/aodvb/showthread.php?t=85541) and some people suggested I do another poll for all the other characters, so here it is. Just like the first one, you can choose your 10 favorite characters.

To be honest, I don't remember or know more than half of the characters on this list, but then I've never read the manga, only seen the first anime once.

Do yourself a favor and start reading the manga. Then forget the anime ever existed. Dull character designs and barely adequate animation hurt the anime. But the manga is spectacularly good. Action, adventure, comedy, characters you care about and clever writing, it has it all.

And Chachazero is pure evil win.

Chachazero is technically in the anime series, very early on in the scenes with Eva and Nagi.

I'm reading the manga (volume 19 should arrive in a few days, yay!) and I still don't recognize many of them and have to think for a bit on others.

I've watched the series a couple times, read the manga quite a few times, and even seen about 6 episodes or so of the second series...and I don't know alot of those characters either.

I didn't bother picking 10, just 5: Annya, Chachazero, Nutmeg, Mei, and Mitsuru Nijuin's daughter - I assume that's the chibi who beat up Asuna-tachi with illusions.

I voted for a lot more male characters than I was suspecting. The Ala Rubra is full of great, eccentrics like Al, Chamo is a lot of fun with his love charts and picking on the girls who have fallen for Negi, and Fate gets a vote just for instigating the coolest fights in the series.

Other than those I also voted for Cocone. I think Cocone has a really cool character design with her "dead" eyes. Topping my list, however, is Chachazero. I love her evil side-comments and she makes an excellent pair with Chamo.

Don't have any idea for favorite characters (with the poll obviously focused on the American version of the manga, as I'm sure Raken would be a huge hit if he was in the poll). However, I can tell you that Fate is one of my LEAST favorite characters in Negima.

It's true I've kept this to characters introduced in the US release of the manga. When the manga finishes it's run, I'll do another with everyone.

Wow, 10 is a bit much, but here goes:

Skipped Negi. He's the main character so I can't call him "everybody else". Of course I like him though.

So, not in any order mind you, I have:

Takamichi - highly under-utilized, but I guess you can't write too much about him or he loses some of his mystery.

Kataragi - Don't know why I like him. Probably because he reminds me of a Giant Robo character. A mix between Alberto and The Fabulous Fitzgerald which is good enough for me.

Gandolfini - He gets the most "screen time" of the secondary teachers and it looks like he has to play devils advocate more often than he would care to. I'd like to see more about his character, but I doubt that's going to happen any time soon.

Kotaro - Okay, so I disqualified Negi for being a main character, but I count Kotaro. I am well aware of my double standard. :D

Takane D. Goodman - How can you not like a girl who's always showing the goods? More seriously, her wardrobe malfunctions during the School Festival were entertaining.

Mei Sakura - Fire mage who also has wardrobe malfunctions. Sure that isn't the best reason to like a character, but it's what I've got.

Cocone - She's Misora's sidekick and since I like Misora...

Donet McGuiness - She seems to know what's going on so I'd like to see more of her. Again, not really because of popularity, but that it's obvious she's going to be more important later on.

Ku:Nel Sanders - I just like the joke behind his pseudonym.

Chachazero - Was going to omit her, but since I already excluded negi and included Kotaro, I thought I should keep room open for sarcastic puppets.

I voted for:

Negi - Because he really is a great lead character. Akamatsu's first lead male character who is attractive and self-assured (up to a point). It's easy to see why so many people are charmed by him.

Chamo - The perfect side-kick to Negi. Where Negi is innocent and straight-forward, Chamo is devious and scheming.

Shizuna-sensei - 99cm.

Toko-sensei - Fierce, beautiful, dangerous and spectacular legs. Oh, and she's completely insane.

Kotaro - A great best friend for Negi. He brings out Negi's competitive spirit but he's also a good guy. And he looks great when he's disguised in his 15-year-old form and wearing a Yakuza thug outfit.

Takane D. Goodman - Incredibly dedicated mage with great intentions thwarted by her own tunnel-vision. And she ends up naked a lot.

Cocone - Misora's little buddy with the dead-eyes. I have no idea what their relationship is, but I like it.

Nagi Springfield - He suffers under the weight of his own ego, but he can back it up.

Ku:Nel Sanders aka Albireo Imma - His taunting of Eva is epic.

Chachazero - I said it before, but she is pure evil win.

Well, here are the people I voted for (in no particular order).

Negi: well, he's just a great character. I just like the way he is.
Chamo: you've got to love perverted animals that can talk and are devious.
Shizuna: she's just very hot. :blush:
Kotaro: he's a great fighter.
Takane: very dedicated person. I like to refer to her as the "stripper girl."
Mei: she's very cute.
Nekane: she's Negi's caring cousin. Very pretty.
Nagi: he's just a very amusing character.
Albireo: I love how he pushes Eva's button's.
Chachazero: you've got to love murderous puppets.

Okay, to help people figure out who everyone on the list is, here's a quick rundown. I haven't included everyone, partly because there are just so many, and partly because many of them haven't been introduced in the English version of the manga yet.

Negi Springfield - Our Hero.

Chamo - Our hero's wise-cracking perverted talking ermine sidekick.

Konoemon Konoe - Headmaster of Mahora Academy, powerful mage, grandfather to Konoka.

Takamichi T. Takahata - Teacher/mage and love of Asuna's life. He was also a compatriot of Nagi.

Shizuna Minamoto - Very beautiful and very well-endowed teacher who runs the school's clinic.

Nitta - Hardcase teacher who is always yelling at Negi and his class to keep it down.

Seruhiko - Handsome and youthful blonde teacher/mage.

Professor Akashi - Yuna's father, investigating Fate Averruncus.

Ninomiya - Makie's rhythmic gynmastic's coach.

Tōko Kuzunoha - Beautiful mage-teacher and skilled swordswoman who favors miniskirts.

Kataragi - Mage-teacher who wears black suits, a beard and black sunglasses.

Gandolfini - Dark-skinned mage-teacher with a wife and child. Gets drunk when he thinks he's going to be turned into an ermine.

Mitsuru Nijūin - Overweight but skilled mage.

Mitsuru Nijūin's daughter - A very young mage who gives Negi's rescue squad a bit of trouble.

Sister Shakti - Mage-teacher-nun. She's a strict disciplinarian and oversees Misora and Cocone.

Kotaro Inugami - A young boy of the dog tribe, an eager fighter and is friends with Negi.

Takane D. Goodman - Mage-student who specializes in manipulating shadows. Has a problem with frequent "wardrobe malfunctions."

Mei Sakura - Very cute mage-student who looks up to Takane. She weilds a broom and has a shy personality.

Cocone - Misora's dark-skinned and tiny friend and fellow nun-in-training.

Megumi "Nutmeg" Natsume - Mage-student with big round glasses. Seen working the computers during the Mahora Festival Final Day Event.

Eiko of the Black Lillies - High school girl and leader of the dodgeball team, the Black Lillies.

Kaoru Gōtokuji - Wildly pompadoured martial artist and color commentator during the Mahora Budokai.

Keiichi Yamashita - Spiky-haired martial artist who faced Evangeline in the Budokai.

Tatsuya Nakamura - Martial artist who faced Kaede in the Budokai.

Pochi Daigōin - Martial artist who faced Ku:nel Sanders in the Budokai.

Fate Averruncus - Very dangerous white-haired boy from the Kyoto arc.

Tsukuyomi - Cute swordswoman who faces off against Setsuna in Kyoto.

Graf Wilhelm Josef Von Herrman - Demon who kidnaps several of the girls after the Kyoto arc.

Nekane Springfield - Negi's very kind and very beautiful older sister.

Anya - Negi's childhood friend.

Donet McGuiness - Beautiful blonde Englishwoman, collegue of Professor Akashi and friend of the Akashi family.

Nagi Springfield - Negi's father, a powerful mage with an ego to match.

Eishun Konoe - Head of the Kansai magic guild, father of Konoe and a compatriot of Nagi.

Albireo Imma aka Ku:Nel Sanders - Powerful mage and compatriot of Nagi. He loves to tease Eva.

Gateau Vanderburg - Dapper older mage and compatriot of Nagi. Teaches Takamichi magic and how to smoke.

Chigusa Amagasaki - Beautiful mage who kidnaps Konoka during the Kyoto arc.

Chachazero - Eva's murderous puppet.

I think that was everyone I listed.
