Bandai Visual, via AV Watch, has announced a release date at long last for the classic Akira. Akira was one of the first releases solicited by Bandai Visual in Japan when they got into the high definition game but it was put off indefinitely. The new release is set for a February 20th, 2009 date in Japan as well as a February 24th...

I assume Bandai Entertainment will be handling the US distribution? (BVUSA/Honneamise was merged into BE, right?)

Even though, I have a feeling BV will still set the price-point for America... so I'm guessing somewhere in the neighborhood of $60-80?
