Summary:
The Black Lion volume of the Voltron Collection concludes the Lion Voltron saga. It was great to revisit the days of long ago where my childhood worshipped the ground that Keith and the gang walked on. As an adult it is great to revisit what I longed to see again. As a fan, it makes me happy to see that WEP did such an awesome job of putting this collection together. For fans of the series, Black Lion will conclude a fantastic job of wrapping up the Lion Voltron series into a very nice keepsake collection. For Voltron newbs, be aware that this was the granddaddy that paved the way for some of today’s most popular anime. Its age and weaker storyline is evident, especially in this final collection. Nevertheless, Voltron will always have its place in American anime history regardless of how strong or weak it is content-wise. So, here’s looking to the upcoming Vehicle Voltron collection… Let’s Go Voltron Force!!

I do agree that these episodes are quite weak, especially when it turned out they just left the show hanging as if there was going to be a final episode coming up. Sadly, that never happened and is one of the reasons why I am truly enjoying Golion so much more, it had an ending. Of course, I alway sfound it weird that the Alliance took over Planet Doom, yet, the next episode, Zarkon has an entire empire on it again.

I did enjoy this collection, even if these were (except for a couple) the series weakest episodes, mostly beacuse of the haphazardly way they were done, specially the subpar animation and the lazy coloring , gladly Queen merla and that these episode gave the animators more leeway to portray the destruction of the Robot hordes more than what they could splice with GoLion footage are some of the good things about these episodes, now bring out Vehicle Voltron MB!!!!:bowsmiley:

I haven't seen Go Lion as of yet. How many more episodes of this series are there that were not a part of Voltron?

The final 20 eps of Lion Voltron (Eps 53-72) where commisioned to Toei by WEP and probably got subcontracted to some poor overworked korean animators that worked in Space Thunder Kids 1 (http://www.collectiondx.com/node/314), 2 (http://www.teleport-city.com/movies/dvdjournal/2007/04/space-thunder-kids.html).:sd:

The last 20 episodes were made for Voltron.

In the 3 parter when Voltron goes to Doom, Zarkon was killed by Voltron, Lotor killed Hagar, and "Sven" and Lotor killed each other.

Oh okay... I guess I was kinda confused because I thought that it was the other way around. In other words, I thought he meant that there were more episodes of Go Lion that weren't included as part of the Voltron series.
