Didn't buy it the last time?

nope.

Ain't no friggin' way the last time since the boxset was costing around US$800+shipping back then.

These new collections are a far better value and less clutter.

I have the R3 releases which look like they were taken from LD masters.

Far less money than this, but man, it would be nice to have that remastered video...

Now if only someone in the US (Animeigo maybe?) would pick it up and give it subtitles so all the fans who have missed out over the years due to language barriers could enjoy it...

That's gonna be a steal for the greatest show ever. I already have the box, but my willpower level is low when it comes to Touch. Hopefully I'll forget about it in the next 2 months.

ehehehe! I waited. For a long time, too. I thought it wasn't gonna happen, but it finally did!

As such, this new collections-release is kinda neat as it parallels the compilation-movies three-disc release format.

However, there is no mention of a collection-versions of the Touch Specials as of yet. I can wait.

fwiw, I'm also still waiting for Miyuki, Hiatari Ryoko, and H2 collection-versions, although the recent H2 singles-releases are actually not that bad in pricing. I still prefer a collections-version, however.

Are these remastered? I've never seen Touch, but have heard nothing but great things about it... still, kind of difficult to justify a blind buy if the quality of the video is unknown.

I reckon it'll be the same video-quality as the 2004 boxset-release/2006 singles-release, which I believe was a total remastering considering the video-quality of the 2004-release was pretty dang clean and good compared to the old LD and VHS releases.

Good for those who missed out on the DVD boxset. For me, every penny spent on the DVD boxset was worth it and more. I have gotten a good bit of mileage from it too - easily more than 5 complete rewatches.

Yeah, that'd be awesome. Touch is one of the only series I'd be willing to buy sub-only at the moment.

Is it remastered? All of the previous releases from Catalyst haven't been.

I don't think so. Touch was in 2 or 3 R3 sets previously, so its probably a maxi-bunch of those.

Yeah because you get essentially a laserdisc dump. Hardly comparable to remastered version.

Looks very good. I hope cheap sets of other shows from Midachi manga follow, like Miyuki.

I'd buy it in plain white envelopes if it was subtitled! Or even if Script Club revived so I could get the translations!

Animeigo is the only company daring enough to pick it up. We'll have to wait for them to finish Yawara! first.

When they had their poll (which slerch666 won for Yawara), I won the "prize" for show they are least likely to license, for choosing Touch. :(

It would be helpful to know what was the 2nd most likely show to license for them...

Nice to see that YUA 2 and Sexy Commando have been considered. Yatta! :sdsmiley:

Pity that none of the retro vintage super robot shows might ever get licensed. :( Do Mazinger Z and Great Mazinger have any particularly hot chicks in them?

Edit: I do know that the 90's fantasy kids show Vs Knight Ramune & 40 Fire has a giant robot and a hot villainess chick (called Pheremone Lip) in it. Does that qualify for it to be licensed?

I don't need any subs and stuff.

I will buy Miyuki R2J-dvd's if it ever gets re-released. Especially if it's done like this current Touch Collection-sets. (I like superjewels.)

Even with this shitty dollar-to-yen exchange-rate.

AFA R1 licenses, one day the movies might get picked up, but a Japanese Blu Ray release is more likely first perhaps.

I like the super jewels too :) Dragon Ball looks good packaged that way as well.

here are the pics of the Touch-TV Collection-3 dvd-set (http://picasaweb.google.com/uhhni.treat/TouchTVCollection3)

I have completed it and it is so worth it!

and with this set, my foray into regular R2J-purchasing has come to a nice end. :bowsmiley:

I'm blaming the current crappy exchange-rate and, honestly, the lack of recent quality or worthy anime-titles to purchase.

Oh, well. I will be on the lookout and waiting for other Adachi-anime (H2/HR/Miyuki) to be in remastered collection-sets, as well as if/when the KOR-movie finally gets a proper and remastered dvd-release.

Until then, sayonara R2J-hobby.

I really like the big jewel cases! Wish R1 used them.

I have the Hiatori Ryouko box set, & if you don't have that already can recommend that if it gets a cheaper similar release to Touch.

Have the Touch specials been released in big jewels already?

AFA collecting R2Js, I'm down to final Chi (until S2), the Shenlong DB movie & Genji Monogatari when it starts release. 6 total so far.

But I'm considering Touch now you've whetted my appetite!
