Yeah, I mentioned this in the Geneon fall anime Blu-rays thread (I figured some people were probably getting sick of me starting a new thread for all the new series coming out on Blu-ray in Japan when none of them have English subs or anything).

I wonder if I should start a thread for Tales of the Abyss or not...

Don't do that again - it's in the wrong place, and makes for more work for us mods straightening it out. Once things start becoming more active on the R1 front we'll re-evaluate what to do with Japanese releases vs the rest of the world.

I like to get this on Blu-ray, except 6800 yen for only about 50 minutes at CDJapan?! Geez... That's about as much as I would normally pay for imported PS3 games. Is there anywhere else that sells anime & ships internationally?

There are amazon.co.jp and hmv.co.jp if you are looking for an alternative. I recommend amazon.co.jp, since they have 24% off for all pre-orders. About Kemeko DX pricing, I am a little disappointed about how expensive it is, but oh well, what can we expect? After all, it is Japan ~_~ disgusting price. I was actually thinking about getting one of the new series in blu-ray but with exchange rate going insane like it is now, I rather save it for R1 or a cheaper boxset release.
