Episode 1:

Oh god, I'm going to be skipping past that OP at warp speed every week.

Well, if I keep watching. First episode was okay but a tad boring, with lots of fancily dressed men being sure of themselves and chuckling to each other, basically, about what solar systems they're going to buy or conquer or piss on next. The battle itself was neither good nor bad, just sort of there, with more meh 3dcg. Not a female to be seen all episode, except a short glance at one of the princesses.

The leader of the Eurian fleet was pretty cool though, and the ED promises there's some chick that will play a big role. I also like some of the seiyuu. So maybe I'll watch another episode if I get around to it. I'm just neither particularly impressed nor particularly turned off thus far.

Uh... huh. I'm not really sure what to think of this one. I was initially turned off by the OP (the music, the CG ships, the character designs) but the episode ended up being decent and the character designs ended up not bothering me by the end. I would have liked a few more female characters, but at least one more should be showing up. It won't hurt to give this one another episode or two, at least, so I'll see where it goes. I could use a half-decent space opera.

Why, oh why, did they have to make his eccentric quirk gum chewing? *sigh* Too much of this episode feels like a Writing 101 exercise for some reason. I was hoping for a half-decent follow on to LoGH, so I'll give it a few more episodes, but I'm not very impressed so far.

Oh well. I didn't have high hopes for this season outside Nodame Cantabile.

I couldn't care less about the OP or the fancy dresses...but I think it's actually okay for something that, in true LOGH fashion, will probably take a little time to build-up its characters and story. There's some potential there, depending on where things end up going.

The episode was fine, nothing special but not bad either. I didn't really like the first couple of LOGH episodes either -and that series also had too many men and too few women-, so I'm not in a rush to judge this one.

I think the CG is actually easier on the eyes than some of the other animation frames, I have to say, with a few low quality motions being particularly jarring.

Well, when you have well over a hundred episodes, you can take more time to develop things than you can when you only have 26...

Very true, speaking about the show as a whole...but LOGH's first "season" turned out quite well in its own right, so I assume Tytania could manage to give us that much with relatively little difficulty.

Who knows, if this project does decently it may get extended, sooner or later. Not betting on it, but it's not impossible.
