One thing I've always wondered, but I haven't been able to find the answer to on the tubes.

Is Dwango that backs NicoNicoDouga and is often seen listed as a sponsor of various anime TV series related to Dwango once known as Dial-up Wide Area Network Games Operation, formerly Doom Wide Area Network Games Operation?

According to the Japanese wiki, the current dwango purchased the rights to the brand name from the original DWANGO, and that's the extend of the relationship.
