Wall scrolls, posters, plushies, calendars, cards, keychains, files, or what have you. Lists or pictures, and if your collection just happens to surround your DVDs, that's just fine. :)

My selfish reason for starting this thread... After over a year of debating whether or not it was really worth spending more on the custom cut frames than I did on the posters, I finally just pulled the trigger.

I was looking for some kind of merchandise thread to post in, but I only found the figure image thread and a couple general/DVD collection threads.

Though I have no interest in posters and such, that Aria poster looks awesome.

The only non-DVD, non-manga stuff I have is Touhou related, and then that's just CDs, the games, and various books. I also only own two figures, both Miku (Nendroid and 1/8 PVC, though they won't ship until like February because OtakuFuel.com sucks). I'm pretty much an anime-only person.

I have a lot of artbooks, too many to go and list out really. They're my one non-DVD collecting passion. Until this year I imported a couple of magazines like Megami but it became too expensive. Most of the collectibles and figures have come in limited edition dvd sets or from magazines. Ditto for wallscrolls and such. I don't actually display any of it either, it just sits in boxes or on shelves. I've never been big on that stuff really, except the figures which I do have out in the open otherwise why even keep them? Just recently I did actually buy a couple of figures of my own free will. I have no idea why since I never had any interest before but I just sort of starting wanting some of them. I've imported a small amount of soundtrack CDs as well, particularly the Key stuff. They're crazy expensive but very very very worth it.

I actually wish I could give a lot of it away because I just don't get anything out of the collectibles like some people do. The only reason I don't throw it away is because it kills me how wastful that is. If there were a local anime club I would've offered all the posters and whatnot to them long ago.

I've got about 10 figures, with two more on order. Also, two (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b158/EyeOfPain/escaposter.jpg) small (http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b158/EyeOfPain/yurika.jpg), laminated posters that I won in a raffle at an anime club a couple years back. They're actually the reason I got into the respective anime.

Being a big fan of Yotsuba&!, I had saved a pretty penny in obtaining the character figures from that series:

-Fuka (seifuku edition)
-Danbo/Cardbo
-Ena
-Yotsuba (summer edition)

If they count, I do have an issue of Dengeki Daioh, as well as pencil boards that were included in DVDs.

Impossible. At least give me a theme. Like a certain character or show. Or one type of good.

I'm more amazed you bought them from a place I had never heard of. At this point, I thought I had at least heard of every online anime goods store.^^U

They were the cheapest by a good margin thanks to free shipping, but unfortunately they have some bizarre pre-pay vs pay-at-ship policy and multiple ways to buy and free S&H only means one free partial shipment which they wasted on the filler DVD I ordered to get the $100 free S&H. :relief:

So the 9/30 Nendroid was overallocated and now won't be out until the wave at like the end of February (though I swear I read about a December wave too), and my November 1/8 PVC is being held until then too unless I pay some ridiculous $10+ partial ship fee.

Needless to say, I won't be shopping there again. Well, not that I'll ever be buying figures again either. DVDs are so much more straightforward.

Those are some nice promotional posters. I particularly like the one for Moribito. Outside of DVD's I only have an artbook and a number of soundtracks. I wouldn't mind picking up an artbook every now and then. Some of the figures out there are really nice, but I try to steer clear of it for my wallet's sake. It's like opening pandora's box. Thanks for sharing and I hope others do too. While I can't participate, it's still nice to check out and admire other people's loot. :)

I think that the Aria poster in the OP looks absolutely great, I'd love to have one like it.

I have four wall scrolls; 2x MOHS, 1x Full Metal Panic and 1x Sister Princess ... and approximately 4 bookcase shelves of figures. Another bookcase shelf of Artbooks and a nice pile of Megami magazines, (shelf is ~70cm).

I also have a quite a few OSTs (~100) from many different series. Some are OP/ED singles from Japan but most are OST albums.

There's also a pile of misc stuff, e.g. pencil boards, bits from R2J LE's etc etc

I could do with getting two or three decent posters though as I have a couple of frames which could be reused to hang them.

All that must make a cool display.

I feel the same way about a lot of random stuff I've picked up, everything from freebies to items I apparently wanted at sometime, but now I have no idea why. I've sold some of it, but I still have more to sell/give away.

Impossible. At least give me a theme. Like a certain character or show. Or one type of good.
Sounds like you collect just about everything? Pick one, if you'd like: your keychains, your plushies, or your Higurashi goods.

Needless to say, I won't be shopping there again. Well, not that I'll ever be buying figures again either. DVDs are so much more straightforward.
I'm not really surprised by what happened with the "free shipping". Figures cost more to ship, and unless you're dealing with a place like Rightstuf, I would guess there are usually partial shipping catches like that. I usually stick with HLJ, which has been fairly reliable, although I've had mixed opinions on the quality of their packing jobs in the past.

However, I'm not really a figure person. Their expense adds up almost like cels/production art (ouch!), with good-sized PVCs ranging from around 4000 to 10K+ yen. I'm also really picky. Many of the characters I like don't get figures, and many figures don't capture the character well enough for me to consider buying. There's still some on my list to get, though, like one of the Yotsuba Revoltech figures that DiRF and yabasugi mentioned.

P.S. Akari thanks you for the awesome compliment of her poster.

Keep your eye on Yahoo! Japan auctions; that's where I found mine. There's some other nice ones for the other CD and DVD releases.

That sounds like a great Japanese OST collection...definitely a category in which I'd like to collect more of.

I was looking into finding a display case big enough to hold my small number of figures, but since a couple of them are 1/6 scale it needed to be 12" tall at least and once I saw the prices for cases with the dimensions I wanted I decided they were going to just stay dusty. :) For a while I thought a 10 gallon fish tank turned upside down would work for that, but they are too cheap and ugly with the silicon caulk in the joints and all.

These are the most recent 2 pictures of my collection. Unfortunately not everything I own is up there. They were taken last year.

The FMA cosplay costumes you see up there were made by me. The Eternal SM costume was purchased.

Not pictured:
I've got a couple hundred or so English manga and I don't know how many boxes of Japanese manga I have. In addition I've got quite a few of those phonebook manga magazines, tons of games, several poster/wallscrolls, some Sailor Moon playsets and my cels. I know, its silly for an adult to buy the doll playsets, but I thought they were neat, I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan, and I wanted a neat backdrop to photograph dolls against.

Two of the things that I like most that aren't pictured are posters. The first is a black and white WeiB Kreuz poster of the VAs. :beatingheart: The second is an FMA poster of Roy, Ed and Al that I got signed by Mr. Mignogna and Aaron last year at a convention. :shy: I'll keep the fangirling at a minimum.

I plan on custom framing and matting the FMA poster myself. One trick I've found that saves money is by buying the closest size frame possible. I always go big enough that I can add a decently sized boarder to the object I plan to frame. I then buy my own mat board and cut out the window mat. I do want to start making beveled edges on the window mats since they do look better that way.

I collect lots of stuff, but most of them are small figures. Some items that are unusual are a spinning Mokona plush, a Fuku bag (cabbit from Tenchi Muyo GXP), and a Lupin figure where you can attach his upper body onto the hood of a car. I have lots of stuff, but at this moment, too numerous to list.

I only have a handful of figures. Mostly Death Note, Eureka Seven, and NGE figures. Also one of the LE Lupin III figures with the car from the R1 DVD's. Nothing amazing, and no pictures :( , sadly.

I bought a custom cut frame kit through Frame Destination (http://www.framedestination.com/). Americanframe is another good site. Most Japanese promo posters are Japanese B2 sized (515 x 728mm), so I converted that to inches and used the next largest measurement (20 3/8"W x 28 3/4"H). I thought about getting a cheap larger frame, but I didn't want to deal with a mat and trying to show off as much of the poster as possible (some of the text is close to the edge). I also wanted some of the archival materials like the Bainbridge Artcare foam boards and the 98% UV acrylic. Most people would probably be good with regular acrylic and an acid-free mount board.

By the way, that's an amazing shrine, I mean, collection. :D

Besides my figure collection, I don't have pictures of anything else because they are scattered about a few different bookcases (artbooks, manga, and random anime merchandise)

So, here are pictures of my figure collection taken in the summer...so it's not updated. I got some more figures in recently, and I need to rearrange a few of them.

These are great collections everyone are posting. I'm not really into collecting figures (not quite yet), but love to collect posters, wallscrolls, CDs, artbooks, and other goodies.

I didn't even know that particular Clare figure existed (I've only seen the Megahouse one). Amazing displays you have; looks like your investment is well worth it.

That's some impressive anime "wallpaper" you have there. (including the bed)

Since I moved I have been getting everything just the way I like it. Here's just my dining room area at the moment. I've been opening a few of my pvc's to accentuate some of the dvd collection, not to mention it's the only place to stick them at the moment. I hope to get a display case in the forseeable future. Anywho.... I do have more in the apartment but my camera batteries died while transferring images so this is what I have at the moment....

Wallscroll/posters:
Pretty Sammy wallscroll
Mahou Tsukai Tai! poster (2 of them)

Figures:
Cyberdoll May (one that came as an extra with artbox only Geneon release)
Nagato Yuki swimsuit (won it here on AoD a few weeks ago - Nice :beatingheart: )

CD:

Thanks. You do have a great collection of posters as well.
Do you laminate them? I always take my posters to Staples and get them laminated so it doesn't get dusts and preventing damages to it. Mostly go on eBay where I get the posters from a particular seller. The wallscroll is from searching from Google or ToysLogic.

Sadly no images to show, but I can say I've gotten a variety of anime related music CDs over the years. Many being either OSTs or character singles. For example I have the Happy Seven Character Image album. Maybe one day when I'm less lazy I'll make a full list.

Yep, surprisingly they do have imported soundtracks as well. If they don't have it listed, you could add them in. The link is in my signature if you're curious about it how it's listed. It's not a perfect system but when other people add information in, then others could use the information too in their list.

Ah I see then. Granted the hard part with adding the info is some of the tracks even when listed on the CD are in Japanese. There's got to be some decent site out there with a thorough list of the various CDs out there that I can use as a reference. One that includes more than just the more popular series.

Entering the name is one thing, but I get stuck around the point of entering things like "tracks". So while I joined as can be seen here (http://saintajora.cdcomplete.com/) all I have listed is Bottle Fairy. Which is my only domestic CD actually. Unless you count the Lucky Star CDs I got with the LEs of course.

Or wait would it be okay just to add the album name and pass over entering things like the various tracks? Either way I'll have to think about what to do later. Right now it seems like quite a bit of work. More than I expected it to be.

not a lot of goods, mostly extras (http://members.cox.net/%7Esensuifu/stuff.JPG) that came with LE releases. There are other LE items like T-shirts, books, etc. that I didn't bother taking out though.

I liked the way you framed the posters. They look more like movie posters than anything else. :D Did you just purchase a precut frame kit, or did you go somewhere and have them size everything up there?

Cool, thanks for the info. I'll have to look into it when I go to frame some of these posters I have here. :)

Hehh Thanks. I leave offerings of incense 3x a week to the Cel Gods when I'm looking to expand. I actually have my collection spaced through out the house right now. I just 'borrowed' my son's shelves (he's 6 and loves micro machines, cars, and Star Wars) for the picture. Definitely easier than photographing a million different book cases/shelves/dressers/ect... Took me roughly a week to set it up initially. I'm still waiting for a nice display case/curio cabinet(s) to use as a permanent home for these babies. ^_^

(note: kidding about the incense and the term 'cel gods')

Yeah, that's it. That's all I do to add it. Just the name of the CD if it's not listed. Adding the tracks is painful to do. It just for organizing your CD and how much CD you have and by what artist. It always best to do at the very start since if you know you will be going tons of CDs later on, it's tough to do them when you start to have hundreds of CDs. I did look at one site, but it's a program not a site where you can look at your collection on a website: Collectorz (http://www.collectorz.com/music/cd_catalog.php?source=adwords&campaign=musiccollector&adgroup=cd_catalog&ad=004&gclid=CKWz3JOw85YCFRg6awodET_HXg). Possibly will check out other sites to see what they can do if I come across one.

Haha! I was beaming when I saw that Infinity HTS subwoofer (doesn't look like it's the tank-esque 1000 model though), but then you went and let me down with the polk audio speakers. :P J/K of course, but it's always nice to see another home theater guy out there.

The floor speakers were presents from my dad like 7 years ago... they will be replaced soon enough! I need to replace my Receiver too... Subwoofer was the first thing I replaced a couple years ago. My last one was a p.o.s... I love my home theater.... but that's a discussion for another place! I just need to get a little more income to work on it.... :sd:

Thanks, that Clare figurine is still available here. (http://www.hlj.com/product/BET13133)
Thanks for the heads up. However, I must remain strong against the temptation of figure collecting (with certain limited exceptions :P).

I really like the way your collection looks there, with the figures near relevant DVDs. It makes me want to consider something similar.

I thought the Cars movie items looked out of place. :) That must have been a very time consuming picture, to get all those items in place. They'll look great in a permanent display.
