What are the differences between the original Trigun release and Trigun Remix? I know that Remix includes all of the original openings, and double sided covers, but is there any other reason I should care if I already have the originals? (I don't care about the dub.)

If you are happy with your originals there's no reason to bother unless you absolutely must OMG have everything perfect.
But if the lack of the proper openings hasn't been driving you nuts for the last 8 years...you're probably fine.

If having it in 5.1 is something you want, then you might also consider the Remix. It's not a bad 5.1 mix as I recall. Nothing gimmicky, with rear channels used when necessary. I never got Trigun the first time around, so the Remix was my first time buying the series.

Just finished watching remix last month. It does have a 5.1 mix, but it's not that outstanding. Only really noticed it a couple of times. Not nearly as good as say Bebops remix. So probably not worth buying for that alone.
The remix singles also have nifty embossed cardboard sleeves. But again, not worth double dipping.

If you haven't bought Trigun before, then go with the Remix. But don't bother double dipping if you already have the original.
