In Summary:

These four episodes flew past, and left me wanting more. This series is a strange blend of naieve optimism and brutal reality, with Jomy seeming to retain his youthful innocence and not mature at all over the eleven or so years these episodes cover. At the same time, no punches are pulled in the least, with several events played out for maximum emotional impact. Watching this, it's easy to hope for a happy ending for everybody, but the reality isn't nearly so kind.

This is an excellent show, science fiction space opera at its finest. If I wanted to get hypercritical about the writing I'm sure I could find a laundry list of things to complain about, but honestly - I'm too busy enjoying the story. At the halfway mark, I'm impressed at the epic scope and the heartrending brutality of this show, and really can't wait to see where they go from here.

This is so true. This series has surpassed my expectations. And by the time you get to Vol.4, you were left with a cliffhanger. You want to know what happens next. I can't wait for Part 3.

I'm still just on the first episode of the second single :sd:. I just got the movie and while I'm watching something tonight, I think it'll be Utawa.... I'll wait until I have the third part and then watch it all! I've gone to marathoning series which is a good thing :sd:.

A bit off-topic but still relevant - Animax Asia recently started broadcasting Toward The Terra on 10 Nov 2008 with the original Japanese dialogue track AND an English dub. No credits though on who did the English dub.

That's interesting to know. What could it be? Could it possibly be an Odex dub? ANN doesn't have any additional info. Animax Asia (http://www.animax-asia.com/shows/toward-terra) doesn't provide any detailed information.

Really? That does beg the matter of why? Could the information be wrong in some way?

I do not recall Animax Asia ever providing any detailed information on dub credits. That English dub is likely to have been commissioned by Animax Asia for its broadcast use. Chances are that the dub could have been done by Odex.

FWIW, there are a couple of other shows on Animax Asia either completed or started showing that have English dubs - Big Windup! (link (http://www.animax-asia.com/shows/big-windup)) probably used FUNImation's commissioned English dub for which the show has not been released on R1 yet by FUNimation, and there's even an English dub for Emma (link (http://www.animax-asia.com/shows/emma)) :) *waits for the howl of outrage that an English dub is available for Emma broadcast on Animax Asia but the R1 DVD release does not have it* :P

I saw banners for those as I was browsing through the Animax Asia site. I'm sure FUNi will dub Big Windup!. As for Emma, if it does have a dub it will certainly draw some interesting reactions here.

I can already feel how the reaction will be. I really don't want to be anywhere near it if it turns to be at least halfway decent and everyone questions why the release was sub only from TRSI's part.
