Guessing the dub is already done... will we see this? Or even a sub only version?
I have the LE on order =/

This could mean two things:
FLCL will never be for sale again in America, which will make me happy that I managed to get the Ultimate Edition boxset of the series at Metrocon earlier this year (for $60), but many other people will be really upset...
Or, Another Anime licensor will rescue it and release it in greater numbers for a lower price, which will make me feel like an idiot, but many others will be able to snap it up...
I guess I have to follow Spock's advice and hope for the license-rescue, as 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one...'

Hopefully, ADV Films can take advantage of the situation and license-rescue it. Since Synch-Point already dubbed it, this should be simple enough.
While they're at it, they could also rescue I'm Gonna Be An Angel!, since Synch-Point got too lazy to release all of it and ended up having that series canceled. Also, as it's a screwball comedy, it'll be a perfect fit for ADV Films! Although, they would have to redub it...

I want to say I feel bad, but I'm still royally miffed at them for not completing their I'm Gonna Be An Angel release. Somebody license rescue that show, please? :(

Were volumes 3 and 4 of Leave it to Piyoko ever released?

Maybe Sentai Filmworks/ADV might rescue these titles. Who knows at this point what Sentai may have up their sleeves or what ADV might do. Also Funimation may resuce these titles similar to their deal with Genon or what they did with the Sojitz titles.

The great financial melt-down nets another victim, I guess.
Keeping my fingers crossed, that it doesn't eventually do in ADV as well.

if it's even remotely gonna get rescued, i reckon it'll be Bandai Ent since I think BEI gets first dibs on any non-sunrise Bandai Visual titles.

Like DiRF, I was lucky enough to have gotten the possibly final shipment of the FLCL boxset in May, however whenever I get a Blu-Ray player, it would easily be in my top 5 to own on Blu-Ray. Hopefully someone will rescue the license, as I know there are plenty of fans who still don't own it.
Oh crap, I just realized... does this mean I won't be getting my FLCL shirt that I sent in that postcard for?! Dammit.

FLCL Ultimate Edition T-shirts: Final Call (http://www.bro-usa.com/sp_blog/2008/11/11/flcl-ultimate-edition-t-shirts-final-call/)

Hello, long time no post.
This is blogger Shiz w/ an update on the FLCL Ultimate Edition t-shirts.
Our lovely S*msung printer decided it won’t feed sticker labels anymore, so it’s been a pain getting all the postage printed. Manual feeding sticker labels takes a lot of time… and we don’t have interns. Bah!
So I kinda stopped shipping out t-shirts for the month of October, but I’ll get back to shipping all of them out this month & next month.
That’s because…
The LAST DATE we’ll ship the FLCL Ultimate Edition t-shirts is DECEMBER 24, 2008.
The last print of the FLCL Ultimate Edition was made in June 2008, and we will discontinue the product. There might be a few copies floating around somewhere, but we believe there are very little left in circulation.
After December 24, we will no longer accept postcards to exchange for the t-shirts.
So if you still haven’t sent them out, please send them no later than early December, so we can get your name & address entered into our database.
We also received a bunch of returned t-shirts lately, so I’ll list those names in a retro-October post.
The password will be october2008.
I’ll post updates w/ who we sent the t-shirts out to later this month.
Thanks for the update! Yeah, I sent out the postcard in early October (IIRC), so it's good to know they're still working on it.

To tell the truth, I've been wondering when this was going to happen. Although I thought it wouldn't be for awhile. I would have expected FLCL to get another release here first. That's sad for all the people who want it. Luckily I have the original singles. My 3 first anime DVD's I can say proudly  . Thanks Synch Point, for FLCL!! Broccoli and Synch Point were always cool, but they barely had any anime and manga.
Would be really cool to see ADV rescue FLCL. I was wondering the other day if Synch Point were to shut down, would ADV get FLCL, I mean they have tons of other Gainax titles, it would fit in nicely with them. Plus it would be a big seller for ADV, that they could milk for awhile.
Bye Synch Point and Broccoli, sad to see you go. :depressed:

ADV? Milk a Gainax series until it's driven 50 miles into the ground? Nevar!

Chances are that FLCL will be rescued and released in a two-disc set by ADV or Bandai. It has done so well that I don't see it being left in limbo.

It's not like Gainax hasn't done it. If it sells, keep publishing it.

No, the great financial melt-down probably had nothing to do with this.
Broccoli's financial problems has been known for years. I'm just surprised that it took them this long before they scuttled Broccoli USA.
I wouldn't be surprised that Broccoli went bankrupt sometime in the future. Looking at its stock chart, it's clear the company is in deep s***.

Yes, I wouldn't expect for this series to be left unlicensed for long.

Interesting...looks like I won't be collecting some of their uncompleted manga anymore since I doubt they'd be licensed rescued (I hope some of them do)
That sucks...I was looking forward to reading Murder Princess.

In their defense, a lot of companies stock charts look like that this year. Take a look at Viacom, CBS, Navarre, GM, Ford, Citi Corp, etc. Even some companies that are doing well are seeing their stocks nosedive. Apple is down over 50% for the year, despite record profits and sales.
I know Broccoli hasn't been doing well, but a stock price isn't necessarily an indication of financial performance right now.

Compare Broccoli's value to Gonzo (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/cbuilder?ticker1=3755%3AJP) and Studio IG (http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/cbuilder?ticker1=3791%3AJP) and you can see a world of difference in terms of the stock's value.
Just got an email from Broccoli, my FLCL T-shirt is shipping! :D

Well, my email didn't specifically state either... but it's the only thing that they should be sending to me :P

Really? Are we talking about FLCL UE? I still have my copy still in the shrinkwrap. Haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Rented FLCL originally and only bought a copy after hearing rumors that quantities were very limited and might not last long.
Just got an email from Broccoli, my FLCL T-shirt is shipping! :D
Well, the shirt FINALLY showed up... and I got a letter apologizing for running out of Large-sized shirts (as I had requested), so they sent an XL shirt, along with a shotglass to make up for it... kickass! ^_^
What a time for me to fall in love with Brocolli, when they're closing-up shop :(

I got my shirt a couple weeks ago and I had asked for a small but they sent me an extra large instead, I had assumed they ran out. I didn't get an apology letter or anything else though. :(
