Several new acquisitions were announced today at Funimation's industry panel at Anime Expo 2007, including Love Hina, XXXHOLiC, Jyu Oh Sei (Planet of the Beast King), Darker than BLACK, and the second seasons of Tsubasa and Negima!?. The license for Love Hina was previously held by Bandai Entertainment; Funimation will be releasing the entire series, as well as the Spring and Christmas Specials starting in 2008.

In the case of Love Hina, you're right we can't be sure how much content is included. However in my case it's irrelevant. If I remember correctly ADV was asked about this titles at at the time Funimation had acquired the initial 30 I remember reading somewhere that Kurau was in limbo at the time but most likely was part of the transfer. Neither ADV/Funimation knew at the time who had the rights.

Regarding 5 Centimeters Per Second and Innocent Venus, those two are still up in the air at the moment. The last I read was the Japanese licensor was deciding on what to do with them.

Nothin for me from this list. Already have all the former ADV/Sojitz titles, or I'm getting the TRSI bundles for Christmas. So there's no need to buy any of those. And most of Funi's recent titles don't interest me, or will be finished up by January.

It's a bit sad to see Funi also has Kurau. But it's better than it being in licensing hell. It's a show that more people need to see. The dub performances, Monica Rial in particular, are excellent. I imagine the Right Stuf bundle should come down soon, and will probably be less than the Funi boxset (like the former ADV titles), so I recommend grabbing that one.

The licensing issues with Kurau, as well as the source materials, have always been a problem with Kurau. That's a big reason for the long hold up in the initial release. I was honestly surprised to see Funi grabbed it. I thought it would be done in R1.

These for me. I'm so glad that Funi will be allowing me to finish Shattered Angels (does my ADV single now become a collector's item?) and, unless there is a compelling reason to get the ADV singles for Kurau, I'll pick up that box set too. (I value space over cost nowadays.)

Not completely sure about getting Love Hina so it's a maybe but I'm sold on Claymore singles due to the fantastic job Funi's doing with it.

It's sad that ADV has had so many problems lately but at least Funimation was around to pick up the pieces. Now, if they could just get more of their shows on TV.

I guess it somehow got squeezed with all of these releases. It was said it's supposed to come in Q1 of '09. But things like that are always subject to change. So hopefully it will be solicited for March or April.

Yeah, it's very unlikely dubbing have anything to do with the delay. Replicator's schedule and/or resource are definitely possibilities. Things happen, I don't think it takes much for releases to get delayed...

Given the various delays that have happened recently, you're probably right. I wonder if these delays in general (Funimation or otherwise) may partially explain why certain series have yet to be given dates. After all if one has to delay A-C then it can be kind of futile to give dates for D-F. Since you might have to delay those as well.

Devil May Cry 4 (PS3/360) had an LE release. In that release the first volume of the Devil May Cry anime was indeed included.
