Holy crap, you know what? I have never seen this in anime, even as a gag. Ever. This is like my Holy Grail, so I'm actually kind of curious too.

Can't think of any. Maybe we'll get some in the future, as the computer tools evolve, but right now it seems like it would be too much effort for too little return to be used.

Hmm. There's also the question of dentistry in Japan. Given the pictures of models I've seen, I'd have to say they don't take good-looking teeth anywhere near as seriously as the US does. How common are braces in Japan to start with?

I just find it strange how out of all the niche markets and fetishes anime has catered to that there hasn't been anything done on braces.

But it's not like they haven't used teeth to appeal to the audience before. One example I can think of would be the use of a fang on characters like Misao from Lucky Star, Tsuruya from Haruhi, Elise from Sky Girls, etc.

hmm when I saw the title I had the same thought as others...wow I don't think I've ever seen that...my second thought was even more disturbing...what kind of person would have a fetish for braces...;).

Anyway still an odd catch but I don't think that is something we have never seen and given the number of high school shows that focus on the awkward nature of school years I do actually find that suprizing.

I think I do remember seeing an anime character with tooth braces, but it was so long, ago (could be some anime made in the 1970s, and it could have been just a one-shot character in an anime series).

The Fang isn't the same thing as animating teeth though.

The only time I remember seeing braces in anime is in Speed Grapher. That nasty fat guy in Kagura's "nightmare" had braces. I think I may have seen a few other anime with braces characters but I can't remember....

It's not just the models. You should see some normal people on the streets.

Going thru my collection I can't think of one, (you'd think one of the harem shows would have the dweeby guy have braces). I digress; I cringe when they interview people on Ninja Warrior, especially if they smile :blush: I mean, come on, can't you do something about that one tooth getting shoved into the next....
