In Summary:
All Purpose Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku is one of the legends of anime, and the reasons why become apparent within minutes into the first episode. The humor and concept are both top notch, and they lend a charm to the series to which other titles only aspire. DASH! is a bit of a let down after the brilliance of the OVA Collection and the TV Series, but it is still decent in its own right. If you like great comedy and good action and you have not seen this, then you need to. Highly recommended.

I'm surprised you can still give it a B+, considering its age, and considering it's not as "deep" as similar shows nowadays. Personally, I have to say that Nuku Nuku is a series I liked more when I was old enough to be in its target audience. But what helps it from being stuck in Retro Hell is that Hayashibara totally owns the role. [Well, her and Kamiya as the dad.] I'm not a huge fan of her voice-acting, like other people, but this series would be worthless without her. Anyway, while everyone says the original OVA is the best, I think they all have their strengths and weaknesses. I just wish we could get a fourquel one of these days, though, since I don't feel the writers really had a chance to do all they wanted with the story.

I collected all of these when the singles were released. People purchasing this collection should be warned that each one (Nuku Nuku OVA, Dash, TV) has their differences so if you come in expecting sequels of the original you will be disappointed. These are best viewed separately and enjoyed individually for each one's merits.

Thanks for the heads-up. I have this release though I haven't gotten to it yet...

Saw this a year and half ago to two years ago and despite its age, I found it very, very entertaining. I couldn't agree more with the review.
Personally the OVA is my favorite of the 3 by far, and given its rarity... it's great that ADV included it in this set. It's worth the price of admission for that alone. Each have their own strengths, weaknesses and quirks though.
It's definitely one of the top box sets on ADV's re-release spree that I want to get.

Not something I think I'd collect separately, so I may give this release a chance.

Is "Armor-peircing" how it is really spelt on the box?

And "Missle" :)
ADV made a few typo mistakes with some of the recent re-release box sets, this is one of them.

Yep, along with the misspellings on Saiyuki and Aquarion Age (though that one is not as noticeable.)

I'm a little late to the party here, as usual; but I wanted to let you know, Mark, that you did a good job with this review. Handling three different shows at once isn't the easiest thing in the world, as I know from experience, and I think you pulled it off really well.

Thanks for the input! I appreciate the feedback. The ego can always use a good stroking.
Multiple shows in one shot can be a bit tricky, but I actually found this one to flow fairly well. Probably because there is such a dichotomy between the first two and DASH!. Made for an easy jumping off point.
