Is Gonzo developing a hentai title?

An animator working at Gonzo says the studio is working on a hentai title, but nothing has been officially confirmed at this point. I will for sure be watching this little rumor! The staffer in question reportedly posted the information through the Japanese social network Mixi.

I'm not really sure hentai would be the better market, but considering Gonzo's usual designs it'd be at least somewhat different.

Judging by the anime art I've seen on the artbox and R1 DVD singles covers of Witchblade...it would fit right in, I'm sure.

As for the news, it figures. Since they generally put more effort on their animation and female character designs than their stories (wink wink, nudge nudge, know what I mean?;)), Gonzo would be best suited to doing a hentai. Heck, even Masami Obari resorted to doing a hentai OVA series after a while.

Witchblade did horrible in Japan. In America it was a real winner though (odd right?). Speed Grapher DVD's didn't sell too well in the U.S. at first, but Itunes downloads were really high. Eventually though DVD sales really picked up, IIRC. I have no clue how that sold in Japan, but I think someone said it had high TV raitings (in japan)...or something. That was a long time ago, so maybe I'm remembering another show....

Of course if they were going to sell it in America they would probably have to age a vast majority of the caracters but yes I would probably buy it as well.
