Since the PR doesn't mention, these are apparently available to US/CA only. Curse them.

I'd like them on dvd too, but it's better than nothing. Maybe if the streaming is successful, they will consider dvd releases.

Has there been any word on what the download to own option is, will that allow for burning to a disc at least?

I'll be eternally grateful if I'm able to catch Ge999 eps 37 and past because of this. I think its 2 new eps a week, so it'll be a while before then though. :P

Oh yay... US only. I am really close to tell the f-word to them but thank god for IP-overrides so it's no real problem. Still very annoying though.

I can't be the only one who sees irony in this quote from the press release?

"working with Toei Animation allows us to continue bringing great new and classic anime titles to a global audience, curbing piracy and becoming a catalyst to stimulate industry growth."

Clearly, you have an outdated map. ;) Unless there is more outside Japan than the USA. Might be the fog.

If you look very carefully at the wording, you'll see that they are happy to be working with Toei Animation Co. for global releases, not Toei Animation Inc.

Indeed, working with Toei Animation Co. Ltd. DOES give them the opportunity for global releases, however these PARTICULAR licenses are actually through Toei Animation Inc., the LA sub-company of Toei Animation Co. Ltd.

So technically the press release is not ironic, it's simply misleading because it talks about working with a company they aren't actually licensing anything from directly yet.

Actually it gives good hope that they might be able to broker a deal directly with Toei headquarters and get those shows unblocked for the rest of the world, however that would require tricky negotiations with all of Toei's sub-companies around the world.
