My main complaint with Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu was always that the pace went too quickly during the latter half because the show was too short. I think it would have been much better if it were longer. It appears I got my wish (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2009-02-05/second-nogizaka-haruka-no-himitsu-tv-anime-green-lit), since a second season has been announced. I'm also glad to see Studio Barcelona/diomedea will be back.

This is great news. Haruka Nogizaka's Secret was a fun show with likable characters, most of which needed more focus. I look forward to more of what I liked from sereis 1.

Yay.
Definitely a good thing.

Fantastic! As wonderful as the show was, it was too short. This helps remedy that. A must watch, for sure.
This is excellent news. Hopefully we will get some nice relationship building story material between Haruka and Yuuto instead of a 3rd wheel inserted into the situation for the sake of emotional angst. Of course they're free to give us as much imouto as they would like in between.

Actually I wouldn't mind more third wheel, since Shiina is quite an interesting character that could do with more exploring.

Seeing more of her is fine, but they more or less resolved the situation between her and Yuuto so far as romance possibilities go so going back to that would be a step backwards for this show in terms of writing quality IMO.

They barely touched Shiina--one reason I thought the series felt rushed. I never felt like I got to know her.
On the downside, I just now realized that this means I have to buy another series on R2 DVDs...

They need to further explore the concept of Shiina and Nanami further exploring each other, vis a vis the ED etc etc.
Or I guess they could introduce a new character, but that'd be lame.

Hopefully this will be an improvement over the previous season. Don't get me wrong. I liked the relationship between the leads. Also Mika is well she's Mika. However I felt the series could have made better use of the supporting cast. Also the story structure had problems that are kind of hard to explain.

More Shiina is fine by me. So long as she gets an actual role this time aside from being a third wheel. As it stood, I barely got to know her.

That was one of the cruelest teases ever. They're required by law to make an actual plot line revolve around it.

Yes, more Shiina would be fantastic as I quite liked her. But not as a romantic rival. That ship sailed and sank and will never be seen again. She can absolutely have an important role in the story, but it shouldn't involve feelings for Yuuto.
I'd rather see an arc with her accompanying Haruka on a trip to a piano tournament or something.

This is INDEED exciting news! Nogizaka Haruka No Himitsu is my pick for the #1 anime of 2008! The animation was supberb! The storyline was both simple and kawaii, and the chemestry between Haruka and Yuto is stronger then a silk strand!
Roger! ready for Haruka season 2 and more of Yuto Ayase the greatest male protaganist in a anime ever!!!!!!!

Yaaay!!! Finally something to brighten my day... I was wondering if there was much chance of this continuing, so to see it confirmed makes me very happy.

Definitely good news! I was reasonably happy with how the first season ended, but there was definitely more that could be explored, esp. regarding Shiina- they alluded to her having some history with Yuuto or Haruka but never went anywhere with it. Hopefully they'll do a better job of the last few episodes than the first season did and not insert some random jerk to add 'tension'.
Of course, I'd totally watch a second season where Haruka and Yuuto were both off studying abroad and we were just left with the supporting cast (Imouto & the maids primarily) to watch...

Honestly, the introduction of that guy and the story that resulted from it was indeed tension for the sake of tension.

Having some of the episodes focus on the supporting cast would be a nice idea. Especially if we could have one focused on Shiina and the group she hangs out with.

Personally, I have never seen a good play of the random gaijin card. Especially if it's a rich gaijin. I doubt there is any card that annoys me more.
To be honest though, for me, the series ends at episode ten...

"Sailed"? More like struck a mine 1 minute after leaving port and went down in flames.

Well, I definitely felt the story was rushed, but now that we have a second season that there is room to expand. Certainly can't get enough of Haruka with her cute antics. And hopefully we learn more about Shiina.

The first few episodes were extremely good because they went against the convention of romantic comedies. The later episodes .... meh. I hope they fix it in season 2. And I demand that they include some yuri - that would improve the show.:)

I'm all for a second season. Shiina has the potential to be a great character, so I hope they do more with her. Mika is always welcomed as she never fails to entertain and is often the catalyst for some of the show's funniest moments.

Awesome news. The 1st season was rushed but it was still a good fun show to watch. I want more of the meddlers really. The uber milf will also be returning, yay. I hope they give Haruka's mom more screentime.
