Linebarrels of Iron Episode #01
Reviewed by: Dani Moure
Released by: Crunchyroll

In Summary:
It’s not the most original and it’s quite predictable in its first episode, but with a decent story and some good, if short, giant robot battles, Linebarrels of Iron gets off to a fairly good start with enough hooks that give belief this could turn into an enjoyable show, as long as it doesn’t take too long to explain some of the things that crop up in this opener. It definitely left me looking forward to more.

Found this episode quite intriguing (if you couldn't tell :sd:), looking forward to more!

Linebarrels is crack - it really shouldn't be as enjoyable as it is. I think the frequent detours into fanservice-land may have something to do with that. :)

I'm up to ep18, though, and still can't say that I really like Kouichi - his "hero of justice" routine just seems so insincere to me, as he's doing it for the fame and fortune & no necessarily to help people.

I found myself feeling sorry for him by the end of episode 1... I thought he came off as just wanting to be something more, but I can see how it could easily get annoying if it carries on for the rest of the series.

At the risk of being a bit spoilerish, I'll just say that Kouichi does change for the better as the series goes on. While he does get a better idea of what being a hero is really all about, he still has much to learn.
I'm up to episode 18 as well, and I'm really enjoying it. The show does get better with each episode, IMO. The various robot battles are pretty impressive, and yeah, the silly moments and fanservice do help too. :)
